Yes, the reason the rear blocks on the 4wd F350's are 4", is because of the D60 up front. The 4wd F250's got a shorter 2" rear block, as the D50 front sits lower.
Some people may not like the D50; mostly those who like lifts, big tires and off roading (understandably) but, for those of us who "off road" is basically as seen here haha, it sure is nice to start with lower (F250 4wd) truck. I even put on shorter tires. This old girl sure is much easier to load than modern trucks.

Yeah, I noticed that the front (Dana 60) basically has no lift at all, so was thinking the 4" back was factory. What gave me pause is the fact that the rear shocks are fully extended and do not reach the upper mounting studs. Granted I don't have the bed on, but at only around 400#, it won't compress the frame much (obviously enough to mount the shocks) and I'm thinking the shock will still be close to maxed out. Might need to look into longer shocks to avoid travel issues.
