Need to Find Part Number for 1997 Ford Ranger A/C Low Pressure Switch
I tested the low pressure switch after checking the relay and fuses, and I got no continuity. The switch seems to be defective.
However, when I look for the replacement part, all sources (even Ford dealers) give a part number that corresponds to a switch with a round electrical connector. My car's switch has an oval electrical connector for the wiring harness and has 2 prongs inside the oval connector. One Ford dealer told me that I would have to buy the switch with the round electric connector and buy a new wiring harness to adapt it to the switch. I prefer not to do that. I cannot read the markings on the switch. All but a digit or two have worn off.
While I have seen switches for other cars online that look like the one on my car, none of the web sites say those switches are compatible with my car. I suspect this is because the sites think the only connector is the one with a round electrical connection.
Does anyone have a part number for the low side pressure switch I have? If so, perhaps I can then buy the right one online. I do not want to risk buying one that resembles mine and have it not cover the acceptable A/C pressure range the truck requires on the low side.
I would rather get the right one up front rather than take a chance and buy one that is for Fords (but does not specify the 1997 Ranger).
I included photos if that helps.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
