Moving loaded bumper pull, mid to upper 30's, 2 slides - class V WD hitch?
We have a camper in the family that we are looking at relocating in the near future. It is in the 34-38' range with 2 slides, I don't have the exact make/model. It has a lot of stuff in it so I assume it is heavier than not.
Is there a decent class V weight distributing hitch out there that would be worth checking out that isn't overly expensive? This isn't something we intend to use every day but it would be nice to have around for heavier hauls (the heaviest 2-5/16" drawbar I have now is a 10k rating, not weight distributing).
There should be a sticker on the left front of the trailer that gives the make, model, and weights. It is hard to make anything but generic recommendations with out specific information. Etrailer is my usual goto for a hitch.
I would assume a 2.5" class V would get us in to the 13k-15k weight rating - that should more than cover our bases. I'll see what I can find on the camper details. But that will only give us a starting point - we still have no idea what everything weights in it without scaling it - and therein lies the wild card. It isn't going across the country, just between towns, so we're not too worried. If it were moved more or further we would be more detailed with it.
