Hey all, just got a 1969 F600 dump truck that I’ll be working on, so set me straight on where to get info (besides this forum) to work on it. I’ll clearly be searching through this forum a lot but I’m sure there are other sources out there. So, where have you found to be the best sources of info on these (again, beyond here)? Is change for a service manual?
Also, any immediate tips or suggestions? It’s a great runner; shifts well (when I don’t grind 'em); brakes are soft; parking brake is weak; has an oil and rear axle leak.
Specs of mine: 330, 5-speed, 2-speed rear

For bumpside cab parts discussion, you've started in the right place already. However, given that your new to you 1969 is an F-600, FTE's Large Truck subforum will be of interest to you, and your F-600 will be of interest to the regulars who hang their medium duty truck hats over there.
The first pointer I might suggest is to take a more legible photo of your door tag. Consider tracing the ridges of all the stamped characters with a black sharpie, or take the photo in less ambient light, or if you can control the exposure setting of your camera, reduce the exposure so that the bright metal numbers don't wash out.
Then, Super Mod @85e150 or Community Team Member @asavage can help you decode all of the details on your F-600's original build. Asavage has a similar truck, in a similar color. You'll be in good hands and fit right in with the regulars of FTE's Large Truck subforum.
