I havent done much on the 70 f250 since I got rid of the 72 f250. But, last weekend, I siphoned the gas out and put an old working sending unit back in the tank. Everything is much better with a working fuel gauge.
Finally got around to adjusting the clutch as it was grabbing very low which also got rid of some of the slop in the clutch pedal. Can't believe it took me 3 years to get around to it, and I forgot how easy it was.....gotta love the old stuff.
Nothing like being under one of these babies.
Started in on the driver’s side floor pan yesterday. Vacuumed out a bunch of dirt & rust and started cutting with the angle grinder. Put a 8” cut in the floor and walked away lol. May tackle more today. Until then, enjoy the work I did on the passenger side for an idea of how the driver’s side should end up. Driver’s side, unprepped for work This WAS the passenger side floor. Trimmed out rusted parts, ground down to bare metal & used Eastwood Rust Encapsulator 3m seam sealer/panel adhesive & a ton of 3/16” rivets. #thatsnotgoinganywhere
yeah I’m waiting to do my American Autowire harness install. I think I need also put a couple washers on the backside of my alternator to bring it inline with the other pulleys. It’s of by just a smidge and will either chew up belts or throw them off entirely.
Moved it outside after setting in the shop for almost 20 years with a new paint job and finished putting it back together waiting on tires to mount on the new rims i bought a month ago.
Waiting for the transmission shop to finish repairing the 4R70W. Early late January the transmission cooler flooded the transmission. After replacing the fluid 3 times and eliminated the radiator cooler with an air cooler it worked for a short time but started not shifting right . I pulled it and brought it to the shop that built it for me. He was backed up so I told him to do it whenever he was caught up. It turned out that grit from the cooling system was restricting the valves in the valve body.
Valentine day I broke my right femur just below the hip socket, 3 weeks in the hospital. I ended up with a
12” rod and 4 set screws holding everything together. All good now and with therapy walking pretty good.
The transmission is supposed to be ready this week and my son wants to help putting it back in.
Will report progress hopefully by next week.

I had to have ablation surgery on my heart several months ago. Now that I'm not running marathons setting still every day doing good. None of the meds worked on me that did not put me out. One injury that still pleeggs me is a separated hamstring (complete tear of the tendon) where it attaches at the pelvic area. This is considered non repairable, extremely high risk surgery so no ones does them. It's take close to 2 yrs for the tendon to soften so I can sit for long periods of time.
Dreamed of finishing the disc brake conversion I started too long ago to remember. But I did see the pick n pull yard had a '70 f-100 brought in this week so I left work early to go see if it had any parts left worth taking. Only thing I got was the coil, and the valve cover breather. There was nothing left of value. Bed rusted out, no valve covers, carb or anything on engine. Made me appreciate my '68 is complete but needs new exhaust system when I finish the front end.
