Is it possible to eliminate the external resistor on the '57 F-100 by using a coil that has an internal resistor and what will need rewired if anything?

Is this a points ING system?
Are you currently using an external ballast resistor, or a long resistor wire from the ignition switch?
What is the primary resistance of the coil you are using?
What is the KEY ON , engine not running, voltage currently at the coil positive?

Yes, it's a points ignition. External resistor next to coil, not wire. Would need to measure coil again to see what primary resistance is.
Also need to check key on voltage at positive side of coil.
