2000 EX with Key FOB issues...
I have a 2000 7.3 Excursion with the Ford alarm upgrade - (F7AZ-19A361-AA). This is an upgrade to the standard security package that would lock the doors in that once alarmed it would also disable the ignition until unlocked. Also, 10 minuets after turning off the engine it would automatically disable the ignition, so even if you did not lock or engage the alarm you need to "unlock" the alarm Works fine however one of the fobs has stopped working (imagine that after 25 years...) and when I went to Ford to try to get a replacement fob I was informed that there is no replacement fobs available - discontinued!
Right now I am ok because I still have one but really would like to get one or two backups but am afraid that my only option is to de-install the alarm system. Been to one of those places that can "duplicate anything" but that was a bust...
Anyone out there with any ideas or other options?

Oh yea - I did. Ever try to find a GP-23A battery in Wythville VA.? Kudos to the NAPA shop there! Who knows how long it was on the shelf, but still had 12V, it did not help much. At that point I was 5 hours away from home and the fob was intermittently failing. Was able to limp it home before total failure thank goodness and am now running with the only spare I have.

You can probably accomplish this through Forscan, but you'll need the paid version. Our middle daughters Ford Edge Limited only had one key when we bought it, so without a second key another could not be programmed easily. I bought two more current transponder FOB keys and programmed them around the PAT system successfully.

Ok simple questions.Either on the back of the Remote should Be a Model number for the actual fob.If not pop open the cover it may be in there.I Need the Model number of the Remote.Fobs are replaceable and easily programmed.Depending it will run about $35 for a new fob an will Look identical to the original.Granted fobs run $35- 60 on average,but with Older ones low end cost.Battery no worry there either.Have your make,Model and engine so good there.As soon as I have the info I can run with it.Will have a resolution.Where are you location wise? I'm in Greensboro NC .I can set up the fob, but it might be cheaper Local to you.Just did a 01 Lexus key has y be programmed, then Set up fob( lock/ unlock) manually.Easy No Worries on this!!!!

So far a hard to find oem duplicate.There are definitely substitute made that will not look identical but work the same.Autel makes a clone as I call it, can be used Any vehicle. Your Key Fob CODE is GOH-3BFM2497 This is Specific to your truck.Most 2000s trucks Used the Prefix ( CWT) then numbers/letters far too common.Will doodle more on a Aftermarket fob thats programmable to thr truck as it is.That battery is way big,as most fobs Use a CR2016,CR 2025 or cr2032 Flat watch style batteries.

That's stellar!!!! I do love chasing the parts.As a owner of a 85 cavalier and 87 mazdab2200, finding parts is a challenge.However a Oem part number,thats just the icing on a cake to me.That really opens doors to check elsewhere.I have and continue to find NOS parts for my 85 gm! Let me research it,anything pops I will post it up.

That's because the PAT system works off a transponder in the key...not the FOB.

I saw those Listed. It's the Wrong Part number. His is F87Z15k601AA it has to Match.Truck driving and will continue Looking 4 him.Being ive programmed some Fobs,may try a alternative ( universal fob). Need to check to see if it jives with his truck.
