Hi new '67 in france. With others trucks
I just bought a 1967 F250 Ranger Camper to restore. It's in really good condition, never been repaired. Only the engine isn't original; it's a 302 or 286 instead of a 352. It's a 2WD. I think it has a reinforced rear axle and springs at the front. The seller had a chassis alone, from the same generation, in 4x4. Complete. I cut out the front part of the chassis because I couldn't take everything. It looks different in terms of the crossmember, engine mounts, and other parts. I recovered the two axles, the transfer case, the 4-speed manual gearbox, and the pedals.
Looking at the forums, I get the impression it's an F100/150 chassis because the 4x4 has springs at the front, and the axles are smaller (fewer wheel bolts). I don't know the models.
I think the Highboys are really beautiful. I have the equipment to weld and do heavy-duty work. What do you think? Keep it stock, convert it to 4x4 with the F100 underbody? Or modify it to fit other axles, etc.? I don't plan on carrying heavy loads with them, but I think they look magnificent in a rebuilt 4x4.
The following photos show the axles, gearbox, and transfer case of the 4x4 chassis. I'm in Quebec but I'm returning to France at the end of the month with my GMC. Thanks if you have any ideas.

You told you see a 1 speed unit on the transfert case but i see high and low .it s not what i mean?
The ford 9" and the dana 44 you told it s about the axle who are on the ground or in the bed yes?
If it s a good setup i can use it easy so

I have time i have ever my datsun for restore and for the ford i ll start with the cab ,etc. I just take time for be sure about what i ll use

I do all i can on my datsun whitch dont need money and i hope to stard miy ford soon. After your messages, i think a ll keep my small block ford. Do you know a nice upgrade to this engine (or a swap if juste the year change) for optimise mpg and power? Oem or swap injection, i dont like holley and fitech. I want to use ethanol if i want and its crappy things . A friend in canada told me that i can fit easy a mustang 5l injection.
I can bring all that from America , surely cheaper

j ai déposé mes pieces en spare de f100 4x4 1976/77/1978
la boite de transfert est une np 205 avec 3 vitesses+neutre , ce qui est bien c est la meme qu un f250
la boite de vitesse manuelle 4 rapports est cassée dessous , du a un choc et dedans c est rouillé , mais reparable.
le pont arriere est un ford 9" 5 boulons
le pont avant est un dana 44 a tambour 5 boulons + la direction complete sauf l axe volant/boitier
j ai l avant du chassis coupé avec une traverse décalée et les supports moteurs
le pedalier avec embrayage etc au cas ou + colonne de direction
sur mon f250 de 67d origine j ai

pont dana 60 a l arriere 8 boulons
boite de vitesse automatique 3 rapports
j ai pas mal réfléchi et la conversion en 4x4 comme kincer chassis ou autres avec des ressorts a l avant pour un f250 se fait mais pour garder une rigidité ils ont des pieces modifiées , des tirants personnalisés, des renforts, un pont modifié
je n aime pas mettre des pieces de f100 sur mon f250 , je suis content d avoir un gros bébé. je veux faire quelque chose de vraiment propre et comme si c était un f250 d origine 4x4
il y a beaucoup de sujets ouverts sur ces conversions mais je dois aussi prendre en compte que je suis dans le tiers monde socialiste ; meme si je mange tres bien
si je ne me trompe pas entre le f250 4x4 et le 2wd il y a de different :
les lames de ressorts arrieres , les 3 arbres de transmission au lieu de 2 si je met la boite de transfert au centre , les supports de lames av soudées dans le chassis , une traverse a l avant pour les lames de ressort , des lames de ressort avant , un pont dana 44 HD ,la direction.
je peux trouver un dana44hd deja en frein a disques , (provenant de dodge w200) , la traverses renfort +support moteur sont je pense les meme que sur le f100 4x4, le boitier de direction et les commandes identiques que sur mon dana 44 non hd du f100 4x4 , les lames av et ar se trouvent neuves pas cher.
Plus surement des tas de bricoles mais dans l ensemble j espere avoir bon.
j ai regardé les photos sur ce sujet https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rebuild-6.html et je pense que l avant n est pas si dur a modifier. je vais demander a l auteur d autres photos si il veut bien.
si quelqu un a des mesures ou un lien pour savoir ou je dois couper,usiner mon chassis pour les jumelles de lames avant je suis preneur..j ai vu des traverses de support de lame avant a vendre sur ebay ou autre avec meme un support de treuil.
le chassis en dehors de tout ca a l air identique.

si c est trop compliqué en dehors de cela je le laisserai en 2wd.
j ai ma datsun , une bagheera (matra) , et autres a restaurer completement en plus de lui donc j ai le temps je fais tout ce qui est idiot en premier de tout facon, benne,cabine , carosserie.... le reste sera un plaisir ensuite.

I have listed my spare parts for a 1976/77/1978 F100 4x4.
The transfer case is an NP 205 with 3 speeds + neutral, which is good because it's the same as an F250.
The 4-speed manual transmission is broken underneath due to an impact, and it's rusty inside, but it can be repaired.
The rear axle is a Ford 9" with 5 bolts.
The front axle is a Dana 44 with 5-bolt drums + complete steering except for the steering wheel/box.
I have the front of the chassis cut with an offset cross member and engine mounts.
The pedal assembly with clutch, etc., just in case + steering column.
On my original 1967 F250, I have
2WD
Dana 60 rear axle, 8 bolts
3-speed automatic transmission
I've thought about it a lot, and converting to 4x4 like Kincer Chassis or others with front springs for an F250 is possible, but to maintain rigidity, they have modified parts, custom tie rods, reinforcements, and a modified axle.
I don't like putting F100 parts on my F250, I'm happy to have a big baby. I want to do something really clean and as if it were an original F250 4x4

If I'm not mistaken, there are differences between the F250 4x4 and the 2WD:
The rear leaf springs, three drive shafts instead of two if I put the transfer case in the center, the front leaf spring supports welded into the frame, a cross member at the front for the leaf springs, front leaf springs, a Dana 44 HD axle, and the steering.
I can find a Dana 44 HD with disc brakes (from a Dodge W200), and I think the reinforcement cross member and engine mount are the same as on the F100 4x4. The steering box and controls are identical to those on my non-HD Dana 44 from the F100 4x4, and new front and rear leaf springs are inexpensive.
There will probably be lots of little things to do, but overall I hope it will be fine.

If anyone has measurements or a link to show me where I need to cut and machine my chassis for the front blade twins, I'd love to see it. I've seen front blade support crossbars for sale on eBay and elsewhere, even with a winch mount.
Apart from that, the chassis looks identical.
So, I'm open to any advice!
If it's too complicated beyond that, I'll leave it in 2WD.
