2024 F450 Platinum question for interested buyer

Currently driving a 2019 F350 Platinum and really like it. I need to upgrade to 450 due to very heavy camper I want that will well exceed my current 3230lbs payload.

2024 F450 Platinum; does it come with these items or are they ordered as distinct line items ? YES I went thru the truck build pages on Ford website but found that to be cryptic. I am not ready to engage a salesperson just yet.

1. Massage seats ? (I want)
2. 5th wheel prep ? (I want)
3. Lane departure correction, not just the alert. (I want)
4. Backup assist via the **** on the dash (I want)
5. Tailgate ajar indicator (I want)

If I get the trailer tire pressure system, how do the sensors attach to tires ?

Also, what are the payloads on your sticker ?

Thanx,

Items 1-4 will be standard with a Platinum F-450, 5. I'm not sure about. Does your current truck have a tailgate ajar notification? If that is a feature in some Super Duty's, I would expect it to be standard in a Platinum.

It appears that the valve stems have to be swapped out on the trailer tires:

23+ Trailer TPMS

Something to consider is if you are getting a rig with triple axels, you’ll need two extra and not sure if they sell in sets of 6 or if you can buy the sensors separately.

They are sensors similar to what is on the truck. replaces the valve stems. The kit comes with 4 valve stems, the wiring harness for the trailer, and the TPMS receiver box. My limited also came with the trailer YAW sensor that also mounts on the trailer, and uses the same wiring harness.

Hopefully the OP is aware that the F450 does not come with TPMS due to the 19.5 commercial tires. The F350 dually actually has a higher payload rating and comes with TPMS. F450 has bigger brakes and tigher turning radius, so pros/cons to both F350 dually vs F450.

Actually the 450 does come with tpms it's just deactivated. Many of us have activated it, added sensors in the tires and have a fully functional TPMS OEM style setup. There have been reports of signal drop outs in the driver front and driver rear outer tires which makes sense due to the location of the repeater being passenger rear top corner of the cab.
Only cons for a 350 for the ones of us that own a 450.
My 20k rv fully loaded with fuel and occupants ready to travel leaves me with over 1000 pounds of payload available in the paper derated payload of the 450.

1. Massage seats ? (I want) Standard assuming no chip shortages or whatever caused them to remove this option on builds the last couple of years
2. 5th wheel prep ? (I want) Standard but confirm it wasn't removed from order sheet
3. Lane departure correction, not just the alert. (I want) Standard
4. Backup assist via the **** on the dash (I want) Standard
5. Tailgate ajar indicator (I want) Assume all SD's have it since at least 21. My 18 didn't so at some point between the two model years that was added. The 24's should also have the auto close tailgate feature as well.

If I get the trailer tire pressure system, how do the sensors attach to tires ? I responded above that tpms is deactivated on the 450. With forscan it can be activated, sensors added to the tires and you will have oem tpms just like the other SD trucks. That is what I have done. If you keep oem wheels/tires you may experience some signal dropouts occasionally. The location of the repeater is the root cause. At one point at least one guy here was working on a repeater extender to resolve that issue for those who keep their stock tire and wheel setup. For me I had to have more of an all terrain tire so I swapped mine out with 20" fuel forged wheels and toyo at3 tires. Too many times I got stuck on wet grass. Zero issues now. I can't speak for the ford trailer tpms system. I added a tst507 system for my rv.

Also, what are the payloads on your sticker ? My 21 450 Platinum has a 4736 lb payload.

I had tailgate ajar icon on the radio screen in my 2019 Platinum and used it several times. One of my friends did not close tailgate when we were leaving and it was open on the highway; his boots fell out somewhere. Ford whined about this feature and removed it in a few different ways. I tried to circumvent with Forscan, adding the additional wire and nothing worked. Ford appears to either not want or trust it. Frustrating ....

Hopefully someone with a high trim 23/24 will post if it does or does not have it. It is it what it is if not, they don't offer it as an option.

My 2019 Lariat w/Ultimate does not have a tailgate ajar notification, it must have only been a high trim feature.

Then I would definitely expect the OP's truck to have it.
