Fresh rebuild-oil in exhaust manifold

Fresh rebuild-oil in exhaust manifold
Hoping to get a little help.
Just did an (light) overhaul on my 01 7.3. I haven't seen any decent way to prime the engine, so with the glow plugs out, I spun the engine on the stand with the starter until it got pressure in the LPOP and HPOP. I also pressure tested the cooling system on the stand. I went to install it, and realized the passenger side exhaust manifold was full of fresh engine oil.
I pulled the manifold and spun the engine over again and a small stream of oil was coming out the #5 cylinder when the valves were open. I have no idea where the oil would be coming from other than an injector (not even sure on that.....???) I pulled that injector and the o-rings looked fine. As of right now, I'm going to replace the o-rings and try it again.
Any other ideas or any I on the right track?
Thanks

Injector o rings seems unlikely to me. It would have to get past 2 o rings and the copper washers to make it into the cylinder. For that to happen the injector hold downs would have to be very loose or broken. Plus it would likely puke some oil out of the fuel rail too. Any chance it was hanging out in the intake runner? #5 is right where the intake connects to the Y pipe. Maybe had a spill or a buddy messing with you?

While cranking with the manifold off, it was a nice little stream of oil coming out the exhaust.
Nothing was done to the heads and the truck ran fine prior. Engine came out due to a cracked timing cover that was leaking coolant.
Thanks.

I had a thought, shocking I know. You could pressurize just the passenger head hpo rail and determine if it's getting by or through the injector. If no leak when under pressure then it's a bottom end low pressure problem. It's not the cure but at least narrows the field some. Here's a link for a a pressure test rig using a grease gun. With that you won't have to crank the engine to make the pressure. I've hit 3000 psi that way so it's a true test.
