In my quest to fix all the little nuances with my truck, I'd like to tackle the weather stripping. It is old and bridle - mainly the seal that runs along the top of the vehicle from the hood, up across the top of the drivers door, to the back door. I do not know what this piece is called, but it constantly gets stuck to the doors when it's really cold out which is often up here in Vermont. I wouldn't be against replacing the door weather strips at the same time too. Can someone please point me in the right direction for replacements? When I search for them it looks like all that comes up are the door seals, not the big one that runs along the top like I described,
the Summitt molding I ordered, goes around the Perimeter of the doors.
start at the bottom center, so the gap when you finish is at the bottom of the door.
the old molding leaked badly at Car Washes, it got my clothing wet.
the new molding is tight, no leaks.
hi, i think this is the part i need for my X. I've been looking everywhere because i have a leak and i believe this is the part that will fix it. do you have the contact info for the place you bought it at?

I actuall bought them through Amazon. You can plug the part number in google and see if you get any hits. If that doesn’t work, call a Ford dealer and ask them to check the National database. Every Ford parts department has visibility nationwide.
If none of the above yields anything, try car-part.com. There might be a surplus place that would have them. That’s where I found a rear driver side quarter window. I searched everywhere including Carlite.
These trucks are becoming collectibles..
For that weather stripping issue on your Excursion, I’ve been there! My truck had a similar problem with the top seal, and it was a pain in the winter. I found that standard parts suppliers didn’t always carry the exact piece I needed.
What worked for me was reaching out to Mantaline. They specialize in customized elastomeric applications and helped me get a perfect fit for the top seal. They also made some custom door seals that worked great. If you’re having trouble finding the right parts, they might be a good option to check out. It made a big difference for me in dealing with the cold weather and sticking issues.

I have been able to order the door trim moldings, wonder if they would work on the Hatch?
