F450 with FORScan - Anyone?

We just got our 2019 F450 Lariat Ultimate - replaced a 2015 Silverado 3500hd dually - after a week, NO COMPARISON! Ford has put their stuff all in one sock!

Was very disappointed to learn my Edge Insight CTS2 would not work with the F450. The company was zero help, simply stating the 450 computer was different and not worth their time. I really like being able to monitor DPF status after a DPF failure in a previous truck left us stranded in the mountains pulling our 5th wheel. I see that FORScan allows you to add DPF Soot Percentage - but I've not seen anyone posting that has successfully accomplished this with a 450. I have the software and the OBDII reader but don't want to move forward without someone validating the 450 can be worked with.

Safe travels everyone.

Interesting question, I ordered the OCR with mine since it seems my current trucks always seem to go into regen at the worst times. I asked dealer about being able to monitor dpf load since it would really be a useless option without ability to to see load. He agreed but wasn't sure- quess we'll see in a couple weeks when truck arrives

I use Forscan with a Bluetooth OBDII on my 2017 F450 without any issue. I've done several of the mods in the spreadsheet and monitor many parameters with it.

2009kr -

That's great news - thanks for replying. I'm interested in adding the Auto Regen selection and the DPF status percentage. By chance, did you add either, or both, of those? Any issues to watch for or avoid?

Thanks so much!

I have a 17 450 kr and added dpf percentage to mine without any problems. Also made a few other changes with FORSCAN and haven't had any issues.

I just went to the dealer and had it enabled.
But I'm not very tech savy!

I've monitored the OL and CL DPF percentage as well as miles between regen and regen status. I assume OL means open loop, but haven't bothered researching it. I know that it starts a regen when it hits 100. I also enabled DPF percentage on the dash, turned on secure idle, removed the horn beep when leaving the truck running and a few other minor things.

I didn't think the DPF auto/manual allowed me to delay a regen, but meant to look into that further sometime. I'd also like to raise the 87 MPH limiter if someone figures it out, and will remove the nav nanny feature when I get around to it.

I would imagine the 2019 part is the problem not the F-450 part

19`s are not officially supported yet as far as I know, should be soon though. I thought someone contacted them and got some beta release that worked with their truck. I need to do that too -

PRFB and D3thM3tal,

I have been on the phone with Edge at length and have a final email from the Engineering group. The F450, PU or Chassis Cab, will not be supported. According to Edge, the platform does not sell enough units to justify putting the resources against.

I loved the Edge Insight in my last truck but I live without it as long as I can tweak a few things with Forscan.

Safe travels!

RPFB and D3thM3tal,

Have been on the phone with Edge again to validate that there was no misunderstanding - this was due to comments here and another board. The answer remains the same - will not be supported. Just wanted to follow up and ensure I was providing legit info.

Edge isn't going to support it but Forscan will - that is what I was mentioning, sorry to confuse.
