6.0 Powerstroke connecting rods

I'm needing to know if the stock rods in a 6.0 can be reconditioned. im used to machined rods and not fractured. had a local machine shop put new ARP bolts in and torque them. after checking there out a couple tenths and there saying there distorted. can they be honed back to round and still use a std bearing. found some oversize rod bearings but not sure where to go yet. what is the standard practice on these rods.

Your machine shop is going to be the best source for an answer on that. Honestly, new rods from Ford aren't all that terrible price-wise. The part number is 6E7Z-6200-A. List is like $114 and Tousley is $75ish.

Shaved heads and stock push rods

Speaking of push rods, seen a very interesting video about the relationship between shaved heads and stock push rods.
Might be worth the watch....

I have an unopened set of Motorcraft push rods if you need them but $75 from Tousley is about $10 less than I paid.

Does anyone know what compelled the designer of the connecting rods to grind away perfectly good bearing / rod material at the top of the small end? I've lost lots of good sleep over this.
BTW Off topic, speaking of pushrods, I'm going to share a dirty little secret here. When I rebuilt my 6.0 last summer, my machinist surfaced my heads to 3.740" thickness (without asking me first). Being the risk taker I am, I used the heads with 6.4L pushrods (3/8" Mantons).I have about 10k miles so far and no problems.
