Where exactly is the front radar sensor on the Super Duty? The place I would expect it has the tow hooks bolted to the frame.

It's mounted right on the bumper to the side of the tow hook. Waiting on parts to still come in hopefully by this weekend it will be up and running.

Just wanted to give y'all a little update guys.

We have some issues with programming hopefully in the following week we will get it lined up we got the IPC programmed but we cannot get the CCM programmed. We are trying to fine the proper value data to enter in the CCM manually.

We also arent getting communication to the adaptive cruise switches so possibly we dont have the right part numbers on the switches.

But so far we have programmed with the IDS not Forscan since we cannot write IPC with Forscan. Here are a few photos

Since I have a aftermarket bumper the mounting will be different.

Is the sensor bolted to your after market bumper? I see a flange welded above the sensor that the upper slots on the sensor bracket are bolted to. Is that flange on your new bumper or is that stock? Do you think it can be moved more to the center of the truck or does it have to be on the driver's side next to the tow hook? I really want to do this if it works. But I have some Rigid Industries LED lights that are bolted to either side of the tow hook. If I have to, I'll move the one in the way, but it fits great where it is.

That is where the engineers from the company that makes that bumper want it installed. The plate that they supply is where the sensor is mounted to and came with instructions for install. If you were to install on a factory bumper it MUST be installed in the proper area so the sensor can read correctly. I actually might have to put my factory bumper back on so we can calibrate the sensor We arent sure yet since some of the values for modules are different on super duty then f150.

So the sensor actually attaches to the bumper? Rather than some frame member?

Yes the sensor actually attaches to the bumper not the frame of the truck.

Well hard to say just yet since some might not be the correct parts. I have so far 450 in on parts so far but also would need to factor if you have a factory bumper to add those parts as well.

Well I hope I don't have buy a bunch of factory parts, my truck has almost everything, even the camera for lane departure assistance, the only thing that I'm not sure is the bumper because I don't see where the sensor can go mounted

You would have to remove the bumper and add a bracket in place I will try to add the bracket to my stock bumper so y'all can see. The most expensive part is the front sensor thats about 345-400 depending on the dealer. Like my dealer I know the lead diesel tech there so they gave me his pricing on the parts vs the other two ford dealer were higher on the prices.

Update:

Ok guys looks like we finally got the right parts in and installed them tonight. So far the only code that's popping up is the calibration needed for the C-CM module. My friend with ids is out on vacation for a week so hopefully when he gets back to town he will call me so i can calibrate it. He wanted to leave me the ids but I wasn't sure when the part would come in. So I will have a most part numbers listed its just some of the bumper plastic pieces that we will need to find the part numbers.

Excellent. Looking forward to successful completion. I'd really like to do it also so I'm looking anxiously to exactly how you do it and what parts are needed.
