good evening all.. i hope everyone had a good day, may not have many more days this nice for awhile..
about all i got done was cleaning up in my storage room enough to find my travel bags.. then went to the shop and installed one of the taillight sockets in bullet, used the torch to get the tow chain cut out of the receiver hitch.. then using the hoe i cleared the weeds out from around the back doors then got them and the west doors closed.. so now the shop is all snug for a few weeks..

Whew - we're home with the camper. Long story short - camper was not ready when it was supposed to be, hours of waiting until I blew a fuse, had to install the saddles for the EQ hitch on the tongue myself (got a $100 gift card though), and finally got on the road. Aside from lots of sway because of it being empty and no sway control, all went well until the right rear tire blew at 60 mph. Fortunately I didn't panic and had the trailer brakes set right and managed to keep it on the road and get it stopped. The right rear quarter panel took the worst of it and everything thrown off the tire missed the trailer completely. Had to call for assistance because the jack in the van wasn't stable enough to change the tire with everyone blowing by.
Up next - new rubber on the van, good jack, and a whole lot of thanks to the man upstairs.

Sorry to hear that Dave, at least you got stopped ok. Yes those small floor jacks are nice and more stable.
I worked on ol red today and got it to turn over and even start. Old carb is gummed up and floats are sticking and flooding over like crazy. So I grabbed a different one off the shelf and put it on and it fired up and ran like a champ.
I might even clean it up/off and all around it enough to take it out of the shop for a spin. It was nice to be able to get a little motivation when it started up.
Headers and header mufflers sound great.
