I have a 1988 E150 and am completely replacing the AC system but am having trouble finding out the correct oil to use in the system.
My Compressor is a E6Dh which was used in 1988 F150s along with FS6s.
According to RA
f150 1982 - 87 used a fs6 compressor
88 used a SD709, fs6, and E6DH

I have read that the E6DH is very similar to the FS6

So if anyone with a Ford service manual could look up what oil is used in their AC system, and let me know,, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is a late response but in the interest of helping someone with the same question, here goes. All R12 systems from the factory used mineral oil as the lubricant. Ester oil can also be used, which is what I use when converting an R12 system to R134a as ester is compatible with both refrigerants. Hope this helps someone.

I should have also followed up.
What I wound up using was Motorcraft YN-9-A or F73Z-19577-A
It is a paraffinic mineral oil base for R12 systems
Meets Ford Material specification ESH-M2C31-A2
I found it at a Ford dealer in TN I believe and comes in 32oz bottle.

Thought I would look and found some here. So it is still available for us crazy folks that insist on using R12
