Questions about Ford Codes and Options
Getting ready to order a 2004, F-150, XLT, Supercrew, 5.4 L, 4X2, 3.73 L/S Axle ...
I have several questions.
1) What does the "W12" vehicle "ordering" code stand for ???
2) Is there an option code for "privacy glass" for the "second row seating" windows ???
3) Can you only get "solar tinted" glass for the "front row seating" windows
4) Can I specifically order "Michelin tires" for my truck .. or is it simply "luck-of-the-draw".
5) I'm ordering "17 inch cast aluminum rim/wheels" for my truck. Can I order an additional "17 inch cast aluminum rim/wheel" for my spare which would allow me to use the spare when I "rotate" my tires ???
6) What is the "507A" option package ??? What items are included in this package ???

1) W12 is the body order code for a 2WD SuperCrew. W14 would get you a 4x4.
2) Privacy glass is standard in the rear window and rear side windows of every SuperCrew; solar-tint is the standard tinted glass on the front side windows and windshield. It has a solar-reflective film that isn't in plain old tinted glass. Deep-tint glass on the front windows is illegal in most states.
3) You can't specify a brand of tire for your truck when you order it. You're best bet is to see if the dealer will switch them with another truck on his lot when your truck comes in.
4) You can't order an aluminum spare from the plant, but I'm sure the dealer can get you one through parts. Just be laying down, with your salesperson standing by with the defribulator paddles, when they quote you the price. "CLEAR!!"
5) 507A is the order code for the XLT trim level. Whatever comes standard with XLT will be included on your truck, and also determines what other options you can order with it and their specific prices.
