Car show in Bangor Maine, my dent took 2nd

Hmmmm....I wonder who's truck I'll put on here first?

There were 7 trucks in the the 4WD class and over 25 in the 2WD class:

This 03 Chevy took first:

This GMC took first in the 2WD:

This Ford F100 from Caribou, Maine took 2nd:

I'm so biased! She just looked so good today!

Yeah, thanks man. I appreciate it. I've beaten him at other shows. The ones where I've beaten him at were the ones in which judges appreciate the nostalgia, time and effort that goes into restoring a piece of history. His is a newer 03 with all plastic in the engine bay. Lots of chrome and other bling. He's a great guy and we hang out at shows together and wonder who's going to take first at each one.

That Chevy looks like he drove it up to the JC Whitney warehouse and bought all the chrome crap he could.

not to knock the other guy ,but anybody can take a fairly new truck and throww a bunch of bling-bling and bolt on do-dads on it. your truck is 30+ old and looks nicer with a lot more work involved, congrats on the 2nd imo it was more deserved than chevy guys first

Wow he had lots of chrome... Who cares! A truck is just not supposed to look like that imo. Did he have dingo *****? Your truck gets my vote hands down. Of course I am a little bias too .

In reality the chevy truck kind of looked like...a lady of the evening...i guess is an okay term. All that bolt-on glue-on crap is just a bit undignified to this old man.

then again driving a Ranger XLT to me is just a bit too much chrome in my world. But hey, that was the way Ford built it. Next dent will likely be a well optioned 78-79 explorer or a free wheeler like in my avatar.

This is exactly what he did!

This is a very good statement and carries a lot of wisdom in my opinion. Thanks! My next dent will be more of a daily driver worker.

Thanks! When the judges are just normal people the bling wins out, but when the judges are mechanics, car enthusiasts, collectors, etc, the 77 wins hands down. There's 8,000 more hours in that 34 year old dent than his 2003 and that's what wins it.

This is exactly my point above. Thanks!

Right next door to this show was a casino and they hired this woman to hand out free tokens to gamble and for publicity I guess.
