550 ain't happening on a 38R. Heck 500hp is quite an achievment for it. I tried like hell to break 500HP when I had mine and never got there (I was close though). I swapped turbos and did 563 with the same setup.

and if someone is doing 550 on a 38R, its with the giggle juice.
took a very quick look around b4 i start pulling injectors and didnt find what i was looking for..but i did find a set of 238 with a 38R doing 520..

ill look some more later...i just cant remember what thread i see it in...but from the quick searh i did... there are a few 238 38R combo over the 500 mark...

I have tunes from several places but currently I have live tunes from DP-Tuner. My truck just runs best with those tunes. Even with live tunes I couldn't get my 38R to hit 500.. I am only aware of 2 people who have gone over 500HP with a 38R..
i still havent found that thread...i did find big stroker did 520HP with a 38R, stock oil and 238/80..little smaller injector and less oil then i thought..i guess 250/100 or even stock size tires could take him to 550.....is it wise?? maybe not..but it can be done...

i know im not in any kind of click or brotherhood here because of a rant not long ago...witch doesn't bother me at all..I'm a Ford Truck Enthusiast first...after all..its my Ford PSD that got me here in the first place..I'm also not one to push or buy from one curtain vendor...I buy the best part I can from who ever sell's it.... but i know what i read and what can be done...this is just not the site to find out how it can be done...
Throwing more fuel at it still won't get him there, he already has the fuel to get to 550+.. The air is the question here. I have 238cc injectors too and have hit 563, just with a GT42 instead of a 38R. With a 38R (and same injectors) my best was 484.

As you can see in the table below smaller injectors work at a higher VFF% which is ok as long as you don't exceed about 80% ...and larger tires have more tire loss hp due to a higher mph on the dyno rollers! The "cc" rating refers to the "cc volume" of fuel for 1,000 strokes of the injector which is why my input table shows the IMSV=Injector Maximum Stroke Volume as the mm^3/stroke.
To plot the MAF on the GTP38R compressor map the numbers shown below need to be corrected to the standard 85*F map temp so for example at 2800 rpm the 63.6 lbm/min in the table is plotted as 62.4 lbm/min on the map.
Here's another graph I forgot to give before... http://ernesteugene.com/PSD/Tuned_AFR.jpg ...and as you can see from the AFR you need more air to get above 500 hp and from the operating point I plotted on the GTP38R compressor map you see that you're already at the limit for the GTP38R!
I hit 486/885 at RRE, which surprised me. 200/80 Casserly Hybrids, 38R, Adrenaline and Jody's live tuning is what got me there. What most likely kept me from hitting 500 is an AIS intake, muffler and stock fuel system,(except for the CCK and a Walbro fuel pump). I think with a less restrictive intake, exhaust and fuel system I would have gotten an extra 15HP to go over 500. I only need a 3% increase to reach 500. A 42 may do it the way it sits.
Upgraded head studs, valve springs and push rods are my next must do mods before I try for anymore HP.
