four wheel drive will not engage

turn four wheel drive selector switch to 4h or 4l and nothing happens.. no light or anything..worked perfectly before..2005 f150 fx4

take a hammer and lightly hit the electric motor on the back of your t-case

then try 4x4 again.

if it works, only a temp fix. you'll need a new shifter motor eventually

keep an eye on it...eventually it will stop doing the trick. then you'll need to replace that little motor

mine is not shifting into 4L, it will go in and out of 4H but not into 4L. Any suggestions?

You need to have the truck in NEUTRAL to go into 4 low, unlike shifting on the fly into 4 hi. Its something that is easily mistaken and overlooked.
