I don't mind paying for the very prompt service I recieved. Brokarage charges, Postal service 5 bucks flat rate: FedEX 7.50 flat rate: UPS 50 bucks flat rate: Duty P*sses me off, as we are suppose to Have a FREE TRADE agreement, and no one here is making headers for these trucks! GST (our federal Gouge and Screw Tax) is why we have a great social medicine plan, which is apparently breaking our goverment financially, but they just declared a 9 Billion dollar surplus (go figure). Bottom line is headers cost me an extra 125 bucks--- and that is after I pre-paid the UPS 60 dollar shipping up front with Stans.
And that is my $0.0176 USD worth (thats 2 cents Canadian)
Am I reading you right? The Postal Service would deliver a box as big & heavy as those headers for FIVE bucks? And FedEx would do it for $7.50 ?!?
Something about those rates just don't look right to me. If UPS is 10x the cost of the Postal Service and over 6.5x the cost of FedEx, we aren't going to be in business for long. Every rate chart I've seen shows UPS to be a LOT more competive than that.....
we are off the topic Cheeper- Those were the brokerage charges Not shipping. ie the charge for processing a simple commercial invoice for shipping goods across the border.
Lets put it this way UPS charges almost the same for processing that one peice of paper ($50)as they did to move that "Big heavy box" from Auburn to half way up the B.C. Coast to Powell River in three days($60). Post office and FedEx also charge for this brokerage service, but only 5-10 bucks. Nothing to do with the actual shipping. They also collect duty and GST payable for that "Brokage" fee.
My point was this only applies to commercial transactions. If you were to send me a personal "gift" there would be no duty, no tax, would save big bucks on the headers, and by the way that $486 USD for chrome- is $552.00 Canadian, more duty and tax on top of that starts to smart.

Wow, I'll have to look into that. I knew there was a charge, but it makes no sense that it would be that much higher. The Post office, I can see that - they're subsidized, but I can't imagine why our charge would be higer than FedEx's. Let me see what I can find out.
Anyway, sorry to hear it cost you so darned much. And I don't know if I can help others avoid the same situation - just because I work for Big Brown. Could be some legal issues....
I would love a pair of these headers, the question is how do i convice my wife i NEED them. I wonder what shipping would be to hawaii? any idea cheaper? anyhow can't guarentee anything but im definately keeping my eye on this thread.

Thanks for the picture! Now it makes sense why they won't work with turbos... too bad. Now which way do I go, turbo or headers! Is the header output 3"? I can hear two 4" straight pipes off those headers now... Music to my ears.
well thats a easy ? for me to anwser.. i will be going headers if i can get enough money together! if i have to round up money to get headers, then you know why i wont consider the more expensive turbo option... i dont have allot of $$ so if i can afford anything it will be headers.
Im sure you could get them to work with the turbo, just a little bit of welding and cutting and im sure itd work. You gould go from the y off the headers up to the turbo with a 3 inch pipe with a flange connecting to the turbo i want to get a set of these headers and then build my own i have the bender and the welding equipment just no measurements.
Would probably be a million less headaches and not much more $$ to have Stan fabricate a custom header for a turbo installation since he already has all of the equipment to do the fabricating & layout. Doesn't cost anything to talk it over with him anyway!
