If the gauge stays on empty then either the gauge is bad or there is a wiring problem. To pop the plug off for the test, you can barely get up in there with your head and see the plug. While looking at it, VERY CAREFULLY use a screwdriver to pry it off. AND I MEAN VERY CAREFULLY. It is only pushed on like a 1/8". This is only if you can’t get it with your hands or some long reach needle nose pliers.

Thanks!
This truck has the in cab tank as well. Prior owner had disconnected it, so not sure if that could be the issue.

Off to see if I can get a new radio installed in her today!

Well the in cab sending unit should/could might have a elec connection also...I think the same test can be ran on that wiring. Do you have a tank change over handle on the floor next to the dvr seat?

Factory wiring for the radio is tricky, there is a green 2 wire plug. BOTH ARE 12V POWER. The OEM radio gets its ground fron the radio to the mount btacket to the dash. I believe one for main power and one for radio station memory. If you think one is for power, and one is ground, you will start blowing fuses.

I am trying to find a thread that tells you what fuses is going to get blown.

Interesting, mine is on the dash on the heater control unit.

Looked to adjust the idle after getting the truck back and noticed it was periodically pushing gas out the front hole that is slanted.

That slanted hole is the bowl vent
One on each bowl
That means your float level is too high, or the float is sticking (needle and seat sticking)
Most of us who run Holley carbs these days switch to steel needles, so they don't stick like the viton rubber ones do
The ethanol (alcohol) in today's fuel will swell the viton tip of the needle in the needle and seat, if it sticks open, you have gas coming out the vent
If it sticks closed, you run out of fuel and it will not re start

Stopped by the body shop yesterday and got the est for a paint job. I am in charge of ordering all the new trim and front grill.
Unfortunately he has a body off and chassis vehicle he’s midway through and said he could get to it in a month or two.
He also suggested rhino lining the inside of the bed, which makes sense to me.

Heading to the glass shop Thursday morning for a new windshield. She’s coming along!

If you're going to send it in for paint anytime soon I would hold off on getting a new windshield. it's much better to paint a rig with the glass out.
