Took a long drive, can hear radio at highway speed now and then some. Kind of sad it quieted it so much, it was fun rolling into the throttle and hearing the beautiful big block sounds. Its still there but much much tamer.

Loud pipes are cool and all. It’s in our DNA as car enthusiasts. But as we get older and end up with families, we usually start leaning more toward making our hot rods enjoyable for everyone riding in them.
That’s where things like cut-outs come in handy. Want it nice, quiet, and smooth? Keep the cut-outs closed. Feeling rowdy and want to hear the engine sing? Open them up.
Depending on the style, you either push a button, flip a switch, or grab wrenches and swap the caps back on.

And sometimes you end up with a wife who likes a obnoxiously loud exhaust more than you do. She probably would be happy if there was no other option than her much beloved Purple Hornies.
I'm positive that one will magically appear on the work bench eventually to be installed on the 52 Ford 8N too. Since literally almost everything else in the fleet has them at this point.

I love it, currently debating header type/exhaust for wife truck/ probably be identical to this setup because no exhaust shop involved.
