My 1955...Finally

I want to start with a huge thank you to everyone in the community who took a few moments out of their life to respond to my posts or others' posts that I was able to benefit from when using the search feature.. I am by no means a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV, but after acquiring this truck from my dad, I had to see it finished. Dad bought this from our neighbor in 2017. The truck had been in one family since being purchased new (Came out of the Memphis factory). The grandson, who was a childhood friend of mine, decided to sell it after his dad had passed. It had been sitting under a tarp since the mid-90s. Dad bought it with the intention of restoring it to some degree and then selling it. Dad was a huge Ford guy. His first car was a '55 Ford Fairlane, so this 55 truck brought a smile to him. Unfortunately, 3 months after acquiring the truck, Dad got suddenly ill and passed away. The truck sat for a year or so before I decided I wanted to see the project completed.

Me and my brother n law began work on this back in 2018, getting the engine to run, new gas tank, freeing up the breaks, etc. then as happens, life got in the way, and the truck sat for several years until my youngest daughter got married and my new son-in-law to a liking to the truck wanted to help see up and going again so it became our project. Took us maybe a year and half to get it to this point. Going to stick it in a small local car show this May just to show it off some . Here's a few photos showing our starting point (she wasn't in terrible shape except for the bed, and it had to be totally replaced) and where we ended up. Thank you again for all the wonderful help throughout the years. This is an amazing community!! BTW I still have the rear fenders and that massive bumper if anyone is interested)

Edit to say the color is a Ford Willow Green. Which was a 56 or 57 color used mainly on cars. It's a bit unique and not everyone's taste but I wanted something a bit different that you don't see every day.

The hub caps I found on eBay. Had to do some follow-up work and sanding on a couple them to get back in shape. Painted them myself and got the vinyl red letters from someone on here I do believe.

Great job on the hub caps!! I, too, have been down this road.

G-money, do you happen to have the original taillight brackets shown in the first few photos of your truck?

That is a beautiful truck. I am glad to see it looking so good.

I really like the 55s because of the grill and the swept back door pillars.
