tried plastic trim paint: worked GREAT
Let me tell you, the stuff works - GREAT.
My 2000 F150 grill was faded (grey) and stained. I washed the truck good, waited for it to dry and masked off the front grill and Ford oval emblem. Several coats of the Dupli-Color trim paint were applied and the masking removed. I was amazed! The darned thing looked BETTER than new!
I figured I'd spray the lower front bumper valence. I did. It too looked great.
I painted the backs of my mirrors - same thing.
I had to stop for fear of painting my whole truck "plastic trim black".
I figure this paint would be a great way to cover the wax stains that are so hard to remove from plastic trim.
The paint is VERY forgiving, dries pretty quickly and dries to a very even uniform black. I had one slight run near the openings in the lower valance. Once dry, the run was gone.
The improvement in the appearance of my truck was WAY more than what you would ever expect to get for $5.00.
Give it a try - I don't think you'll regret it.
I wonder what the "life expectancy" of this stuff is? Will it fade and peel or what?
