Who just Loves and Enjoys their OBS Truck? Let's see the Gems!
Everyone, including me, come here to get help with problems. This is a GREAT source!
Sometimes.we should celebrate these cool trucks and how we are bringing many of them back to life.
Here my 95 F150 4x4, 5.8l...242,000 miles. I bought it from a flipper who bought it at auction for $250. He listed it for $1800.... I could see the potential, but lots of warning lights on, cel came on during the test drive...
I told him no thanks. He said "try me"... I said $500, he came back at $1,000, we met at $800. I figured i could scrap it and make a few hundred so low risk, right?
Well, the camper shell was ugly and rusting so I sold sold it for $100...then there were some nice running board in the bed and I sold them for $200...all in 3 days! So now I got a truck for $500. Some maintenance, a few sensors, tires, shocks.... cleaned her up real well....she shows her age but runs and drives great! It sat for several years so alot of bugs were worked out and she keeps getting better and better and everything works like it should! Still a few things that will come in time....
Whats your back stories? BEFORE: This is when i got her home. Miss matched and unbalanced car tires, rusting camper shell....very grimy... I could see the potential. AFTER: All cleaned up, new 31s, shocks, a few sensors...just getting better and better... We keep the boat in a marina, but she needs to be pulled out now and then for maintenance or work...thats why i needed a truck (🤫 thats what i told my wife)... I was tired of renting a truck to move the boat. ...yeah, Im Just showing off my boat here🤪 See, how do you move a boat with out an OBS Ford?
This is my '89 F250 HD Diesel. I've only had it for a couple weeks but I'm loving it so far. I've always driven newer cars but my dad always had classic Ford trucks. Lots of nostalgia starting a truck project of my own.
1993 F350 7.5L 460 Originally the truck spent it's life at Oregon State University at the oceanography department. It towed their boat back and forth from the coast. Nearly all highway miles on this old truck. Got it with 124k miles and she is a real beauty.
My '88 F-150 Custom Package. Features a 300 I6, Borg-Warner T18, BW1356 T-case, and 3.55 gears. Sits on 33x12.5r15 Milestar Patagonias. Long story made short... This was a farm truck for many years until the owner before me purchased it and drove it daily. On one of his road trips the Cam Gear stripped while he was returing home. I was given a oppertunity to buy it. Flat towed the truck from my house in one state and rolled it into my friends garage in another state and we put a fresh set of metal gears into the engine. Fired it up and set the timing. Needs some work and some maintance parts replaced but it gets around no issue.
