Hello all ,
I have a few questions . I recently purchased a 1995 F250 from craigslist it has a 5.8 and the auto tranny . she currently has 214,xxx miles on her and as far as i can tell it looks mostly unmolested. one problem I am having is while idle and in park the engine runs and sounds great , once I put the truck in drive and accelerate it goes into limp mode for some reason and will not shift out of 1st , 2nd or 3rd on its own with out imput from the shift selector on the column, I purchased a code reader and got the following codes in order , 622 ,332. I replaced the spark plugs , plug wires , cap and key on the distributor and a new coil . when I installed the new parts the engine sounded healtier than when i started it , but Im still having the same issue under power the CEL comes on and it will no longer shift down or up . does anyone have a some information as to what all I can look as as well to solve this issue . Thank you for the input and If there is already a thread for this please include a hyperlink .
Thanks agian

Ok , I did a few small odds and ends on the truck to try figure out what could be causing my issue .
I replaced the throttle positioning sensor ( suggested to me from a nother board / no change
i checked the top side vaccume lines i can get to with the break cleaner and no noticable changes in idle preforming the test .
checked the trans connection and it seems like the plug is untouched aside from a little bit of dust and road grime , cleaned it up and checked the plug. no change in performance or the ablility to shift on its own ,
When test driving the first time it ran through the gears fine , when i stoped and started to accelerate agian ( not hard acceleration , normal acceleration ) then all of a sudden BAM CEL comes on and now its in limp mode agian . this time i think it has to be a bad connection because the CEL light keeps flickering or the lamp is about to take a poo. this weekend I will be putting it on the lift to get a better look around rather than crawling around on my nice florida dirt.
What I would like is if anyone can give a few more places that are common issues with these trucks that i can possabily eliminate or how to test for the before mentioned problems ,
Thank you for your help

On that connector on the passenger side you have to take the back shell of the connector to see the bad wires.
Make sure the wires are making a good connection to the plug.

Yes sir , I just visually inspected the plug in question , I unfortunately work out of town 3 days a week so i will get to look at it more this weekend , I tried to trouble shoot a couple things this weekend by replacing the TPS and the throttle body gasket . i checked for vacuum leaks and replaced a bunch of vacuum lines that were dry rotten so maybe when i get a look at this plug i can find out whats really wrong with it . I have also read that the trans is run off the same line as the brake lights ? IF there is a lamp out or a relay would it potentially cause my issues as well ? I am just wondering so I can try and get this truck on the road its my only mode of transportation right now and finding a ride is beginning to be a problem. I will pull the connector this weekend and see what i can find out , if thats not the issue im lost lol .
Thank you very much for your time Sir , I really appreciate it

Here is another fun symptom , I Went to start the truck for the first time in 2 days yestereday and i tried 4 good long key turns trying to get it to start , and nothing . no check engine light or anything, i put the code reader on the truck and literally the first time i bump my key in the ignition it starts right up..
