The lights are found at the Auto Barn: Pacer Deluxe Amber Five Cab Roof Running Lights Kit - PAC20-105

Do you think they look vintage and period correct?

This is without a doubt (imho) the best source for marker lights. OEM, period correct vintage, and authentic re-pop's. I spent over $500 to get authentic bullet lights for my rig but they are awesome.

Current DOT requirements dictate two amber clearance lights, one at each cab corner, and the ICC three light cluster in the center. However, your rig doesn't require the cab corner lights because it's a stake/flatbed, BUT you must have amber lights on the forward corners of the bed facing forward and to the sides. Hope this helps.

Than Bob. The Grote link is helpful.

I've bought stuff from the taillight king. Also sold taillights to him. Quite a collection.

Hard to tell for sure, but they do look very close. Is that one yours too? Looks really solid.

No, two Meadow Green trucks are enough. This belongs to ddubs, a new member from Washington. He has a thread called New Toy 54 F600.

I saw a quite new Chevy Van with these Clearance lights on. Do they look like the ones I saw for $60?

Compare:

Do they look vintage enough for a 55 Ford truck? I think I will order a set.

They both appear to be the same, with the vertical magnifier in the front of the lens. They are both Dietz re-pops. I think what would also be period correct for your truck would be the Arrow #39.

Yes, that one looks good. It has the glass lens, not plastic. But ones like that are pricey (and sometimes rusty or tarnished) on ebay.

It should be noted that at that time Ford didn't have it's own proprietary marker lights yet. They were all aftermarket. There is a whole slew to pick from.
Yeah, the Arrow 39's are hard to come by, especially in good condition, and the extremely rare green glass lens.

The cab lights on my COE are period correct - for Greyhound busses. Hahaha.

Size: 4.03 MBThese were on my F1 when I bought it back in 1977. Brass with glass lenses I only kept them cause I thought they were cool looking. Have no idea what brand they are or how old they are.

Was it always a PA truck? An F1 half ton with only two marker lights...???

They are cool looking. I am glad you kept them, too. Nice looking truck.

Period Correct Clearance Lights...

My 1950 Ford F5 COE had three (3) Arrow #39 clearance lights in the center of the cab when it was purchased and then later the fire department installed a whopper of a rotating red signal light:

Picture of my truck when it was debuted to the town of Warren, PA -- it was almost immediately converted to a fire truck / tractor.

I saved the 2 remaining ones ... had a bit of rust on the chrome shells... otherwise excellent...

this is the closeup I used when searching for replacements...

I found new old stock ones with glass lenses (in the boxes)... paid about $30-$35 a piece x 5 I spent under $200 on eBay ... it took a couple transactions to get them.

this is what I'm installing:

I've been hung up on getting glass lens lights... I found two Arrow #49 turn signals that were actually just "clearance" lights that I'm using ... I have to change the sockets to accommodate dual filament bulbs...

I'm having a hell of a time finding what I believe are appropriate tail lights that I want to mount in the skirt under the tailgate...

I have at least 5 arrow #39 clearance lights that I would say are in 90%+ condition and could be cleaned up to near perfection if anyone is looking for some.
