It's been a hot month here in Utah. Daytime temps have been sticking right about 97-100°

So I've spent a lot of time on top of the mountains where it's 20° cooler. Friday and Saturday we rode around Current Creek Peak and enjoyed all the wild flowers.

Big rodeo Monday night so I came home. Everybody enjoy your summer

Good evening, crew !!
Great pics, guys. Thanks.
Just another day here in sunny AZ. The Mrs. Is in Montana helping her mama celebrate her 85th birthday, gets home tomorrow evening. So with that, myself and the doggies are just kind of laying low, doing not much of anything.

Question.......any of you guys using one of these wood pellet grill/smokers?
I am thinking about upgrading my gas grill and going that route. Any brand preference, or are they pretty much all the same??

Have a great rerast of the day, and an even better week!! Later.

That is what I was thinking, too. I have been using an electric smoker, but the Arizona weather got the best of it before I managed to get all my buildings built, and the last time I used it, it quit on me. Another reason I am looking at the pellet version.

Don, I have a Traeger pellet smoker. I still use my gas grill for steaks and burgers, but have had good luck smoking ribs, chicken, pork buts and pork bellies on the Traeger. I haven't had a chance to look at other brands, but can't imagine there being anything special about one or the other. I would make sure to get one with a digital thermostat.

I will say that, even though I like it, I think the Traeger is over priced. The only reason I have one is that a coworker was getting rid of it so we made a trade.

Howdy gang! Back to the grind at the perfume factory for me today, after a very hectic last 5 days. Jodi and I now have a daughter in law.

Don, I do use a Traeger for my smoking, but I use a charcoal grill for steaks, burgers and such. I like to sear and quick cook things like that, and the Traeger doesn't get hot enough to suit me for doing a steak. It will get to over 400° though, so if you're ok with that, I would say go for it. For slow smoking meats, it really doesn't get any easier. I used to use a gas grill for fast grilling at high temps, but gave that up several years ago and went back to charcoal for the flavor it provides.

I'm off to my meetings now, but wanted to try to catch up and send a warm "Howdy" to everyone!

Jodi and I got cleaned up a bit for the wedding.

Have a great day guys!
