Yes, it is a Pirelli Scorpion STR LT265 75r16 and they were on the truck when I bought it. Knowing what I know now, I would have opted for the Michelin. The Pirellis seem to be wearing ok, except I lost one to a mesquite thorn.
I have run them in the mud and they are ok all around tire.
Other than the thorn issue, are the very comparable to noise, rain, and anything else to compare too.
I think the load is 400 difference, It think I read that.........hum...
I had Michelin XCH4's on a Blazer many moons ago. I remember them being an awesome tire. Great sidewalls, great grip when wet, and SUPER quiet on the road. But I'm sure the ones I had were D rated.
Steve, same as mine. But I haven't checked the spare. Before this fall I'll have a more aggresive tire on it.

I am looking for quiet, I will stay with the “E” but looking for a good rain tread also. No need for any off road or snow, keep my BII for the snow stuff. The X never left the garage last winter…
You guys have been busy over the weekend. The duallys present quite the tire rotation problem The front and back wheels are different, so the only way to rotate is remove the tire from the rim. Not exactly easy.
The real issue is Ford Warranty will pay for one alignment in the first 12mos or 12k miles. I took mine in and they said it was fine. However, the left front tire is showing SEVERE feathering all the way across the tire. If the middle was wearing, I could buy over inflation, if the sides were wearing I could buy underinflation. However, its feathering evenly accross the whole surface.
Here is the technical question: Doesn't this (feathering) indicate a toe in or out problem?
I'm going to talk to the service manager today. I have a CSI survey in hand from the first visit. I want this resolved before I send it back. Hopefully it will give me some leverage.

My understanding is shocks or alignment.
Does not make much logic with a new truck

Hy SB45, I had the same stock Scorpion STR LT265/75 R16 tires as you on my F-250 and I just had one blow out - the belts ripped apart after a long trip (I made it home and the next day came out and saw the mess). I looked at the other 3 and they all showed signs of cracking and seperation in the center and sidewalls. I always thought Pirellis were good, but man, all 4 are showing the same wear and I am only at 22,000 miles. The other sad thing is my spare michelein ltx I put on blew out on the freeway going to the tire shop to get a replacement - rim rode it for about 1/4 mile to the shop.
I am now running 4 Yokohama Geolander AT 2's. It's a D rated tire but well within my needs. I've had good luck with Yokos in the past. Anyway, keep an eye on those Scorpions, I was pretty shocked that they got muffed up with barely 20,000 miles on them. Maybe I got a bad batch? These tires were rotated twice at 10k and went offroad 2 times in the past year I've had the rig.
That's not very encouraging. I check my tire pressure couple times a month and have rotated the tires every 5000K. I have run Michelins on my Bronco for years and the only problem I ever had was running over a piece of rebar in the road. Been offroad a lot and mixing it up with prickly pear cactus and mesquite.
I will keep an eye on them for cracking and what you describe. Thanks for the heads up. It's a shame that you get a better spare than the yuppie looking tires on it. I think I will get to a used tire shop and trade in those polished aluminum rims and Scorpions for some stock rims and good Michelins.
Any takers out there?
