Just a few minor things and a bed,. Its been like this for a bilt now, but will sit over winter. The cab and hood need painting still and cab lights replaced but otherwise it's done and will see pavement in the spring time. Of course it still needs its little accents like badges and stuff but in time.

How did the energy suspension mounts fit? Did they have the octagon shape for the radiator support mounts? All of their pictures online don't really show this.

LMC and JGB want $70-100 for just the radiator support mounts, and I can order an entire set of body mounts from energy suspension through my work for $57 so I am considering doing that.

They fit absolutely perfect just as they need to be, no issues with them here. I definitely recommend them.

We live in Upstate NY by the great lakes. Yeah it's been restored fully once and the body had been off several times. I think it's had 3 sets of fenders, at least 4 tailgates etc. The cab, most of the interior, box and frame are original to the truck; as well as the axles, and that's pretty much it. Maybe the headlight bezels, grille and core support too, but otherwise not sure. Pretty much everything on it has been replaced several times.

Oh, yeah it's had 3 engines too. Going on 4 after this resto is done with a Ford Racing crate engine.

It's not fun but hopefully it won't see salt anymore.

So one of tje last majorly big things left to do was to decide what's going on with the bed. Well we decided no point in saving it. It's too far gone.

A friend has a bed for sale, about an hour away, damn near perfect minus some dents that we got for cheap and are going to pick up this week. In the meantime we took the aluminum diamond plate bed rails off and tool the roll bars out. All which are going to be reconditioned and painted. The offroad lights on the rollbar he wants the covers painted to say FORD on each. We have also talked about buying slip on rockers to fill some of the gap or extending the doors down since the rockers that were put in are a bit lower than they should be.

Of course there's still body panel alignment to do, paint, badges, cab lights, just little stupid stuff. But all mega repair work has been completed and she is on track to be on the road by spring after sitting (minus a couple store trips) for nearly 10 years. Completed in just about a year and a half.

Thanks Gary!

Since the new bed comes with factory dual tank provisions, we are thinking about putting in a check valve, switch and 38 gallon Bronco tank. That will greatly increase how far this thing can go lol.

Welp we got the new bed! Light surface rust underneath but 90% clean, passenger side is beat up but repairable. It's even the same paint code/color as ours! Drove about an hour and a half to get it. Ordering new tailgate latches soon as well. But overall in damn good shape. 5 bills scooped it up. Don't mind the pics, it's really dirty from road spray during transport.

Took the old bed off and it crumbled, it was too far gone to be saved. The new bed needs a floor due to sagging, but overall very happy.

It was freezing today! Haven't really done much with it other than locate a very large parasitic draw from the fuel pump system that we wired in. So we will have to take care of that soon.

So, even though the new tank and fuel system are all brand new, we have decided to go with a dual tank setup, basically how the 92-97 trucks do it but without the high pressure inline pump which will be added in if he ever decides to go fuel injection.

We had an issue with what we believed was the fuel pump losing prime and not wanting to start. What actually was hapoening was the pump was overheating due into running it dead headed against a regulator, with no return line to back feed into the back. So the excess fuel had nowhere to go causing the pump to overheat. Prior to this, the carb would flood because of excess pressure and no regulator. Once the regulator went on, well you can see where the issue lies.

That said, we are at the point that it starts up every time we want it to, and pops got a little lead foot happy the other night, lighting up the tires in the driveway. He is also rewiring a lot of the new wiring, mainly for the new tanks, so that if one pump or relay fails, he always has one working tank to get home with.

Also made a junkyard run and found an almost mint maroon dash pad, along with some other really good interior parts that we needed.
