Please help the Moderator of this forum and the user's with REAL 73-79 SPECIFIC questions by NOT posting Generic topics that could apply to any year truck on the 73-79.
ie: What trim was available for 73-79 trucks?
What colours were available for the 73-79 trucks
Just because the truck you have is a 73-79 truck, the question you are asking applies to other years.
This 73-79 forum is being over-whelmed with Generic posts and throwing 73-79 specific threads off the 1st page.
These threads include :
Engines
Fuel Delivery
Rear End
Axle
Transmission
Brakes,
Exhaust
Electrical
Wheels &tires,etc,etc etc,
We really appreciate every ones help on this. This is one of the busiest forums here and it sometimes gets overwhelming trying to keep everything straight.
Thanks again,
Jimmy
i dont want to be the class clown that always comes back with some stupid remark, but what do we do when we ask a really indepth question pertaining to "tires/transmission/rear end/brakes" pertaining to one of our trucks that are a 73 -79 in the "appropriate fourum" and we get little or no responce.
i am asking this seriously and with a good attitude, not being a jerk trying to defy the mods
thank you.
The MAIN reason why the other specific forusm don't do as well is because there has been so much Avoidance in there compared to the regular "Landing Spot " of those threads.
We are trying to Build the NORMAL thing to do by posting in those forums instead.
Once those Other forums are patrolled by the people "In the know" the answers come faster & more frequent.
But it still seems that user's are still not understanding the concept of Making sure everything is in its proper place
This takes everyone to get onside with this because it will end up being better than it is right now.
We aren't trying to be mean or offensive to anyone.
We are trying to build the other forums (with the content that should be in there) that aren't used as much & lessen the load on the MOST posted to TECH forum on FTE.
All,
Thought I would read this. I've been posting here for years now. I never stopped to think, "How it was organized?" I find it annoying when I see a post like:
"Do you love your ford truck?" or "How many of you have four wheels on your 73-79?" I've got alot to learn about these babies and I use this forum to spread the info and the enthusiasm about these relics or "soon to be relics".
I will start to parouse the other forums and see what I can discover.

Howdy,
I dont mean to offend aynone but the only reason I posted it in the 73-79 section was because I didn't know if there was a specific name that i would need to go and look up. I know that it could apply to several different years but I wasn't sure. Isn't that the reason for having forums specific to those years? I admit that mybe I could have worded my question a little differently but is that a really good reason for moving it ?

Sorry I fiqured that some parts would be specific to 73-79 trucks. My main query is engine mount perches as I thought 2wd f100s came out with 460s there seems to be so much conflicting information on the forums but point taken it is very frustrating reading some of the threads that dont have any relevace to 73-79 trucks.
PS Its very hard to find information in Australia on Fords finest creation (closely followed by Ford Falcon XYGT HO Phase 3 Australia's tuffest muscle car (4 doors too)) so I thought best place to ask was USA.
The best place to ask about the engine perches is in the engine swap forum as that's where most of the swap tech is.
There are so many variations that can be done.
As far as the topic pertaining to the 73-79,we try to consider the extent of situation before it could be moved.
Users who are following my Requested Posting practice of Titling their threads with the actual TOPIC in them.
It makes searching so much faster & easier to other users.
Plus, The users who have posted the systems related topics in the system related to the topic forum and NOT in the 73-79 truck forum.
Doing this is helping build those less active systems forums in the forums to post in for in-depth info.
I'm hoping those users who aren't posting in reference to FTE's request will soon help us out as well.
I am curious why each forum does have different posting guidelines though. This has come up in other forums and I copied your rules over there and told it was wrong. Hawkrod
i try to make sure my posts are relevant to where im posting them all the time. sometimes its hard. i would like to make a suggestion though for the next time fte is revamped. have the different generations of vehicles, but put the other forums in there as well. like, so if i have a 75 f250(which i do) and i have a tranny problem, i can go to 73-79 trucks, then go to a section devoted to transmissions in these trucks. it would make more for the site, but it would be better for the users. i hate searching the tranny forum for information on my truck because i always end up with stuff relating to rangers and whatnot. i just feel a system like what im suggesting would be better in the search and information setup of the site
