5.0 or eco 3.5?

An Ecoboost is obviously more than the V8.
The Supercrew 4x4 standard engine is the V8, you cannot get the V6 or the 2.7 in the Supercrew 4x4, but you can opt for the Ecoboost which is around $800, I think.
I gave you the links in Ford.com and others are posting window sticker prices (myself included).
(I was referring to the 6.5' bed, I think 2.7 is available for the shorter beds but not the long one like mine)

It depends on what you were buying. If it was a regular cab or extended, yes, the 5.0 is an option because it is over the basic 3.5 V6. The 2.7 twin-turbo is an option and so is the 5.0 and 3.5 EB. And didn't somebody just post the 3.5 EB costing more than all of the other engines? Please look up.
Mine was standard because it was a long wheelbase model so it was "free" with only the 3.5 Ecoboost as an option. I think around $800. I think you're confused because you looked at a long wheelbase model for the 3.5 Ecoboost which is a cheaper option. On other models, it's a much more expensive option because the V8 isn't standard.

Wheelbase and/or cab option and/or 4WD all affect which engine you can choose, and maybe the price too. I know if you have a super-crew, long box, and 4WD, the 3.5 NA and 2.7L EB are not allowed.

That's because the standard engine is the 3.5 V6. The long box does not offer the 3.5 V6, only the 5.0 V8 and there's only one optional engine above the V8 - which is the 3.5 EB.
The shorter box, the 3.5 V6 is standard. The more expensive option is the 2.7 EB, then 5.0 V8, then the 3.5 EB. If it's $1,400 then it's the short box.

See attached from the '16 Order Guide. On the second page, look at the little "1" next to the 2.7L EB in the 502A column. You can only get the 2.7L engine in a regular cab 502A truck, SuperCab and SuperCrew models of that trim get the 5.0L standard. As do all 4x4 long wheelbase models.

Ah, that makes perfect sense, I didn't know there was a combination where I could not get the 3.5 V6, instead starting with the 2.7 EB. I thought it was either starting with the 3.5 V6 or the 5.0 V8 (long box). If it starts with the 2.7 EB meaning no 3.5 V6, then it makes sense for this particular 3.5 EB to cost this much. If it starts at the 3.5 V6, the 3.5 EB is a more expensive option. If it starts at the 5.0 V8, then the 3.5 EB is a less more expensive option. Whew! I was tinkering with the Ford.com website looking up truck configurations trying to figure out how the 3.5 EB could be $1,400.
