I just got off of the phone with the factory rep. He asked me to describe what has happened as his firewall at the office, in his department, will not let him view my email due to the video. I explained where the movement is, how is moves and what the service manager had said. He then asked me had Lippert responded to which I said, "No!" He asked me for the VIN and the best number to get back to me as he was going to forward this to Steve(at Montana's Customer Service) and he said to expect a call in a few hours and at most a couple of days. Brian said there was a reason you bought a Montana and they were about to show you why. He said this should be resolved in a matter of days, not weeks.
So, we'll see! I'm satisfied that he emailed and asked me to call him.

Around 530 local time, I got a call from Montana/Keystone Owner Relations and they asked to send them a video and pics(tomorrow) of what I've already sent as they can't see anything ran through YouTube She asked all kinds of questions about weight, how the unit was packed, if it had a generator that THEY put in, what kind of truck I pulled it with, gas or diesel, and then she asked what type of hitch I used. I told her B&W. She said, "BMW makes a hitch?" I then explained. She then asked, "what type of sway control?" I explained that this was a fifth wheel. She said, "OH! Well, that was just part of the questions I needed to ask!" We had a good laugh over it. She also asked if I had done any frame mods and if it had a hitch or bike rack. Told her it came with one but was about useless.
I could tell they were already asking questions to see if I had damaged the frame in any way or altered it. Then she asked me how many miles I had on the camper and how many trips I'd taken. After all of the questions, she asked me if I could have it weighed. I replied, "You want me to pull it to the scales with a possible broken frame?" She then laughed about that too.
I've sent her the video after I reduced the size and will get more pics tomorrow. Their frame "specialist" will review all the stuff I send them and then decide if they will come here and repair or come and get it. All of the other stuff can be done at the dealer. It was a 'trying' time to answer all of the non-pertinent questions, but she is only doing her job. She said someone would call again tomorrow. I''m documenting it all and keeping it logged. I will let you know if I know anything. This is gonna drive me nuts I believe!

In all honesty Dave, that is the absolute worst thing to do right off the bat. These are huge dollar companies and could bankrupt you and your lawyer in about 30 seconds and never blink an eye doing it. I know from talking to my buddy at XLR, as soon as someone mentions a lawyer, he immediately stops communication sends it to his legal dept. Situations that could have been easily resolved with honey rather than vinegar have hit many a roadblock by folks yelling lawsuit. Being a Forest River guy his line is, "We are owned by Warren Buffet. See who's got more money for a lawyer." Now, I'm not saying there isn't a time and place for litigation, but starting out with ruffled feathers salivating at throwing that card out isn't one of them.

From what you've posted Monty, I'm betting so too. Just smile and nod and suffer through the stupid questions and nonsense. Give them what they want and you'll get what you want. Should you have to? NO. But, it's the hand you're dealt and you and being forced to play it. When it's all over, put it behind you... In case you don't remember, this was how my slide was stuck for a while at my house waiting for resolution when mine was only a few months old. The twist is my favorite part...
