search Motorcraft belt

Hello,

I'm the owner of a 1989 F-350 ex airforce Wheeled Coach ambulance, and the belt from the cranc to the dynamo is gone, and since my truck has the Ambu package with the Leece Neville dynamo, there is a underhood sticker that says to ONLY go with the motorcraft E8US-8620_BA belt.

Since I don't live in the states, and all the car parts shops over here don't know the motorcraft mark or that partnumber, I don't know where to get my belt?

I tried rockauto, but they don't run that partno, and when I ask for that at their service dept they just shovel you under with "if it's on the site we have it, if not, not!"
so, there it ends for me...

Help!

Do I really have to explain that?

You can see that is NOS, New Old Stock. whereas that is ok for most steel or sheetmetal parts, it's not so good for rubber or plastic parts,in that the rubber or plastic might have dried out over the years and stocking conditions.

As a result the possibility that when you mount that belt (which in my case has to transfer quite a bit of force) fails within the first hour is quite considerable.

And therefore I do not wanna take that risk, and prefer to buy one more recent (fresh)

E8US-8620-BB (replaced E8US-8620-BA) .. Alternator Belt - 57" long x 1/2" wide (Motorcraft JC-570) / Obsolete

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

E8US-8620-BA (there's no associated Motorcraft part number) =

CRAIN FORD in Warren IN has 1 = 260-375-3525.

BELL-MCCALL CO. in Hamilton MT has 1 = 406-363-2011.

ANDERSON FORD SALES in Bellefontaine OH has 1 = 937-592-6010.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 1 = 704-786-8139.

If you don't want an old belt, just take a measure and get one anywhere. V-Belts are a very standardized thing, and there's nothing special about the Ford belt.

As NumberDummy posted, it's a 57" x 1/2" belt. You should be able to get a 57 inch long 1/2 inch wide cogged v-belt almost anywhere.

It really suprises me that you know how to get the Motorcraftnumbers crossreferenced to other numbres and even just sizes!
I couldn't get that done, I even went to the Ford dealer, and they hadn't even a clou what to do with that Motorcraftnumber.
I even had a small list with the Motorcraftnumbers for the filters, they only could get the airfilter, and that for the amount of 60€...

Then I went with my list of gates numbers; 9630,9580,9600 and 7320 to this farmershop, where they sell everything from plows to silo's and tractortrailers etc. and they couldn't deal with these numbers either???

to me it seems I landed in the country of the Idiots, whatever I try, every time they look as if they see water burning!?!
Everytime if here is something out of the ordinary, you cannot get it or get it done!

Anyway, thanks for the help, I'll see what I can find.

Well, couldn't find the one I wanted, and a friend gave the golden tip; since belts this wide are rare here in Europe, he said "go see the agricultural tractor repair shop".
I did, and half an hour later I walked out that shop with the correct belt, for only a fraction of what these guys on ebay were asking. :-))

Glad to see you found one! I go to the "farm store" first whenever looking for something a bit non-standard.

The problem is, coming from someone who works at a dealer.

after a part number has been replaced, after a while it is removed from the system, we dont keep old books with part numbers, when ford stops stocking the part, we dont order it. once something is old enough that ford doesnt make or stock the part, we just call the same part stores that you do to find replacements (IE Napa, advanced, oreilly). if your worried about quality, spend the money for gates belts, I have used the HD fleet runner series on lots of things and they have never let me down.

maybe you'd skipped my "problem"?

Over here (in Europe) these large 13mm belts are rare.
almost all of our cars have 10mm or the flat "multi" ribbed belts.
and therefore these large belts can't be found by car parts shops.

Then I tried to find the belt with the FORD part no, and I was offered almost uniquely NOS (new old stock) belts, while that might be good for metal parts and pieces that's no good for rubber and plastic, since depending on stocking conditions the part might be dried out and brittle.

Imagine after all that hassle and costs (not cheap either, and then the shipping) I mount the belt, and it snaps in five minutes...

And then a friend of my had a genius Idea, he said; go to the farmer shop, and so I did, but instead with the numbers (as I did before) I went with the old belt, and they found me a matching new one !!!

Weird, when I got there only with the FORD and Gates numbers they couldn't help me, (OK, young guy with a computer...) and this time a old timer (Almost like myself, I better hush) found the belt rightaway...

Does the decal actually say MOTORCRAFT or does it specify the actual FORD P&A (Parts & Accessories) PN (as shown below)?

The AMBULANCE PACKAGES(s) were not normal FORD assembly but spec'd to the body companies requirements needs. The belt is not MOTORCRAFT, but a specially released belt for a dedicated assembly whereas a MOTORCRAFT belt would/could be used across many assemblies/service parts replacement.

You are going to come across many replacement part problems as most of the service parts were not in the MPC but specialty cataloging.

When all else fails-
