I have decided to do a build thread for my new truck I just picked up last week this time around since I didn't do one for my old 2001 F250 V10. I really wish I would've so that I could share it among fellow Ford enthusiasts.
I picked up a brand new 2015 F350 6.7 CCLB Lariat w/black interior and 3.31 locking rear from GA, I had it delivered down the West Palm Beach, FL. This exact truck was extremely hard to come across with these options so I had to outsource my search to find what I was looking for. This is my first truck purchase and I am very pleased with it, no complaints what so ever! I own a custom headlight fabrication business in which I custom build headlights with projectors, color match them and also add led halos, strips and more! If anyone is ever interested in getting a set built can view my work at instagram.com/alloutindustries.
Here are a few picture's of the truck when I first got it:
Already put the truck to test a day later and picked up a load of wood and delivered it down to Miami. It pulled it without a hassle, these trucks have a crazy amount of power even in their stock configuration! Averaged around 14 MPG, unsure of how much the load weighed in at however.
I couldn't wait to start ordering parts and within less than 24 hours I already had ordered an SCT X4 with custom tunes, Edge CTS2 Insight, 5" Flo Pro downpipe back exhaust, Flo Pro EGR delete, Weather Tech floor mats and an Absolute Performance intake.
Still waiting on my intake to show up but I got everything else installed as well as swapped out all the standard bulbs for LED bulbs in the cab and exterior, cheap and easy upgrade with a lot better lighting.
Also got the windows and windsheild tinted over the weekend. I went with 35% on the windsheild and 15 all around. I would say this is the perfect level of darkness for me. The tinted windshield really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be at night, I can see through it without a problem but the sides are more of an issue. However, I really like how it keeps the interior nice and cool during the day!
That's all for now, I will continue to update this build thread as I progress more with modifications. I should be getting my paint to match bumpers on sometime this week, then I will get into painting all the emblems, grille shell and eventually doing a full on build for the headlights, tail lights and 3rd brake light.
Is it legal to tint the whole windshield where you are? Or did you just do the strip?
I did the whole windshield, it's illegal but oh well I love the look and it helps tone down the brightness in the cab. You can legally get a prescription from the eye doctor to have windshield tint but I don't.

What bulbs did you install in the cargo lamp?
They were some Samsung 11W LED ones I found on eBay, here's the link:

It depends on the state statutes.
MN allows a prescription to have darker tint. Most eye doctors won't write them though. The Rx needs to have an expiration date of 2 years or less and it has to have the percent that it will meter at written on the script. My doc will write one but I don't go way dark either. I think mine is written for 26%.
If you are considered a CMV the script doesn't mean anything....
I've never seen the windshield tinted, I didn't think it was even allowed which it isn't without the doctors note. Be honest and let us know when the cops pull you over for that. I wonder how long, maybe never. Looks cool though.
Washed my truck for the first time today due to it having some sort tacky stuff all over on the body. Quick wash and then I ended up clay baring the whole truck since it felt gritty and got rid of all the little black/orange specks. If you have never clay barred your truck before I would highly suggest it as it picks up all the crap stuck in the paint. Once I get some more time I will wax it with jet seal and butter wet wax from Chemical Guys.
I clay bar everything I have and put 2 coats of wax on it. Just have to do it 1 time a year. Unbelievable how it preserves the paint. I have to say it is a B!^(% doing the SD. Takes all day.
This is a handy piece of information. What brand of clay bar do you guys use?
Whiteout, I thought there were marks on the side of your door.... they were marks on my computer screen.
I just had a Meguiars kit laying around that I bought for my old truck. It was the one with 160 grams of clay, I split the 2 80 gram blocks in half so that I had enough for the whole truck and it worked out well!
