Good luck and please keep us posted. I love these trucks and hate to see these types of threads, but they seem to me to be more commonplace all the time. I know it can and does happen to all makes. I haven't been perusing the internet to see if the other makes are having similar issues more, less or with about the same frequency. Anyone have a better idea of how this is all beginning to stack up? Is the Powerstroke proving to be more problematic than the Cummins and Duramax equipped trucks?

You can go to the Dieselplace.com for DMax issues and Cumminsforum.com for Cummins issueshttp://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/4th-gen-powertrain/ .
I'll answer your question like this. My cousin has been a Ford diesel tech since '93 and works at a dealer that sells Fords and Chrysler and now that the 6.7 psd has been introduced the amount of warrenty repairs have dropped significantly compared to the 6.0/6.4 psd. The warrenty repairs have dropped so much that this past year he was trained to work on the RAMS cummins since the warrenty/repair activity has shifted.
I spoke with him on Christmas and to date his shop has yet to replace a 6.7 psd engine and on the fuel side he's replaced one fuel injector this year. Also this is a dealer here in TX that sells +90% trucks.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. This truck is my tool for work and without it I don't work. I just hope I can hold on until it is fixed, the dealer said a week or two until it is back on the road. Hope to know more on the cause and progress on Monday.

Best wishes to ya. I hope you're back on the road soon.
When my engine dropped the valve, the valve itself got knocked around enough to break a hole in the block that allowed it to suck in all the coolant, then a hydro lock, and basically all the internals became chunked and shredded metal. They could not even identify two of the pistons, just shattered pieces of metal in the bottom of the block.
It does not sound like you are in the same situation.
Did you check the oil? Check coolant?
Your problem sounds like its electronic or maybe fuel pump or turbo?
Keep us posted, the patience you will have to keep is going to be difficult. I was down for a month. But, I've got about 18,000 miles on my new engine now, all is good.
