I would like to tell of a experience that I had with my 2001 7.3L. Exactly what tamte65 stated. I changed the csp ,still had the problem as he explaained. I found that the single brass looking both that goes through the wiring harness at the driverside firewall and into the GEM [computer] had became loose over time. Mine is a 2001 model. As we all know tempature changes tends to loosen & tignted all types of materials , this along with time [2001 model] the connector was loosing contact with the on-board computer. I compltly removed the plug from the GEM ,cleaned contacts & connector and reinstalled the plug and firmly [but no tight] installed bolt into GEM. Prior to me finding this loose connector I had experienced numerous ghost in my truck bumper to bumper. Functions like window up speed,[SES] Service engine soon, truck quits running while on highway ,ect. Now all of the on-board systems seems to be working correctly. Also there are numerous connectors on this engine that uses this type of bolt through connector design. I also preformed the same actions on these other connectors. The most important thing about this that I can say is after cleaning the contacts & connectors of these harnesses is

#1 When reinstalling the connectors into the plugs---->MAKE sure that the plug is seated firmly into the socket your working on.

#2 Do not overtightnen these "keeper bolts". If you want to call them that.

This prodedure cleared up numerous problem areas on my F-250.

I hope this may help others and thanks fellows for providing a forum & system such as this. I am proud to be a part of this site.

Thanks Again & good luck
Clark
