51 F1 wiring

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I searched and didn't find it.

I have the original flathead 6 and want to convert my 6volt wiring to a 12volt wiring setup. Anyone know of a good place to get a good basic wiring kit without draining the bank? I don't think I need a whole lot of circuits at all, taking it back to original as I can (with modern wiring).

Thanks for your help in advance!

EZ wire is probably the best priced as far as I know. I used it on a project a 51 that I did and it was pretty straight forward and easy.

If you're happy with the stock wire look, check out Sacramento Vintage Ford stock wiring kits. They're modern wire with cloth covering.

Six volt wire is twice as heavy as needed with 12V so the stock harness is all you need unless you're adding a bunch of accessories that require more connections. Your goal will determine which way is best for you.

Advantage to stock kit is the colors match up with the original harness schematics... makes it a breeze to rewire the truck.

Are 6v parts hard to come by these days? I also have a 390 in the garage that i will rebuild, so going with 12v might work better. When i got the truck all wires were chopped, so im starting from scratch.

I got my wiring harness from Rebel Wiring, they have several harness for whatever you want. I got the 20 circuit harness and it was under $200.00 and when I had a question all I had to do was call and they talked me through whatever problem it was I had...
