Bed Cover Questions
 

I am looking for a hard, folding bed cover for my 2009 with a 6.5' bed and bed liner.

I am looking at the Extang Solid Fold, BackFlip G2, and Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite. Does anyone have any of these? How was the install with a bed liner? Recommendations? Pros/cons for these bed covers?

Bakflip F1. I love it. Very easy to install.

all 3 are good covers, each have their pros and cons as far as those that mount on top of the bed rails vs. in between the rails, some covers have exposed latches or keyholes vs. some that don't, some have panels that open from the front or back or with or without the tailgate down first, some you have to completely remove to gain full access to the bed while others you don't. Just search online and you should find some videos that will clearly show how each of those 3 covers work. Then you can decide which one may be best for your needs.

I have the Bakflip HD, over 1 year old now and working out great so far. Many, many others are very happy with their Bakflip as well, except for 1 or 2 guys...

I also have the factory bedliner. I had to do some minor trimming in the liner corners in order to accomodate the Bakflip rail square drain collector. LineX makes a nice cover, I saw it at the Harrisburg show but the Diamondback had a higher load rating (1600 vs 250 lbs) not that I will load my ATVs on top but I will haul mower/skidloader bucket/feed on top from time to time. A bit of difference in the price also LineX is about $800 where mine was $1600 delivered. I tend to overbuy when it comes to things like this. That's one of the reasons I am so impressed by this F-150, true I bought the heaviest payload/tow package they make, but this truck does just about anything my Cummins would do. Chris

The DiamondBack HD is rated at 1,600 pounds.
The DiamondBack SE is rated at 400 pounds.
The LINE-X Cover is rated at 250 pounds.

I just installed the Bakflip G2 on my new F150 and so far I am very impressed with it. It looks very well built and it also looks very good on the truck. Very happy with my choice.

Check our Roll N Lock on line. Their's is a roll-up aluminum slats that are very strong and do a lot of things that the standard bed covers do not. There is a very good video that explains how it works. Worth a look.

RollNLock is made of vinyl laminated aluminum. It holds about 200 pounds which is typical of many retractable covers, such as Retrax, and is about the minimum load rating. There are a couple of retractable covers that have a higher load rating if you need it: TruckCoversUSA and Pace Edwards Full Metal Jacket.

I once had a RollnLock about 8 years ago, I'm not sure if their design changed much since then, but I wasn't impressed with the quality of it. The vinyl top was severely faded after just 2 years of use. It used to rattle alot and leaked water too near the tailgate (which is somewhat common with most retractables).

My brother just got a Rollbak retractable for his F150. So far it seems nice but it does leak a little near the tailgate too.

I agree: I've seen lots of faded RollNLocks.
