Middle Row 40/20/40 Seating in '07 Expedition

I currently have the 2 captain's chairs in the middle row of my '07 Expedition. I have a new addition to the family and want to add the 'jump seat.' Does anyone know if the "20" seat can just be added? Does the Fordhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif body already have the mounts? I assumed that I'll just need to cut through the carpet to get to the mounts.

I've read that the existing captain's chairs are bigger than the 40/20/40 seats. True? or is it just the arm rests that make it wider? Would I need to replace the entire middle row can I just add the "20" seat?

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Again, just trying to add the middle seat in the 2nd row.

Thanks!!

There's an old thread on this lurking around somewhere.

IIRC, it's reasonably straightforward.

If you're really lucky, you might find somebody that has the "20" in their Expy and wants captain's chairs and you could swap the parts.

Most of all, Congrats on the new addition!

You have to remove the armrests on your captains chairs. I can't say whether the holes are there. Best bet is to pull one captains chair and life the carpet. I see these seats on ebay quite often.

I'm betting the holes and retainers are under the carpet. Here's where they should be.

NOT my truck and I have no idea how they're secured. The major challenge will probably be to find the matching center seat. Previous threads have usually been about removing the center seat, not adding it. The information then indicated the armrests bolted on the existing seats -- i.e. the outboard seats are the same in either configuration but the "captains chairs" have added (and removeable) arms.

:-X03cookster22,
I 'm removing my center 20% middle seat this Friday and replacing it with a new Lincoln Navigator 2nd row floor console that I purchased on eBay lastweek
2ND ROW LINCOLN NAVIGATOR CONSOLE (BLACK LEATHER) OEM (07-12) | eBay

Anyway I'm going to SELL the seat, I live in Orlando Fl.
I don't know where you are located.:-huh I also understand that the seat is about 75 pounds so shipping would cost some $$$ plus the price of the seat, but I had to make the same decision for my install project. ( we all do LOL)

As for installing, well I will agree with Chuck, that the holes and retainers are under the carpet, you will have to pullback the carpet and take a look.

Also, you wrote about the armrest...do you have the armrest?
If so they would need to be removed in order for the middle 20% seat to fit upright...Make sense.

CONGRATS on the new addition to the cookster family :-X03:-X03:-X03:-X03

Let me know :-X22
