Well define "bigger" a big 302 or a big block? The biggest you can find stock to bolt on to your existing tranny is a 351 and for all the trouble you will gain 20 horse or so and 50 ft lbs of torque. As far as I know any 5 speed from 1987 to 1996 should work.I guess be more specific on the motor so we can help you better. But I guess start with the exhaust, headers, free flowing muffler, gears help a lot, cam, intake, heads etc.

well im not sure which way i want to go. i have a 351m but i heard that wouldnt work, i have tought obout getting a 302 HO because i was told they can be fixed up more.
and on the tranny will i have to get diferent drive shaft length if i upgrade to a 5 speed My reason for wanting this is because im am going to be using it to pull a gooseneck with my 4 wheelers or a truck on it. |

351M is a different animal from the Windsor series 302/351. 351M is part of the 335 series engines. Same bellhousing pattern as the 460.

the windser will fit in a 302 spot. the 351m and the 400 are big blocks.
the 351 w will fit and bolt up to your tranny. |
