What do you think the rwhp/rwtq on 97 psd?

I have a 97 psd 2wd auto, drw. It is bone stock with 232k miles on it. I know I will never dyno it but what do these trucks dyno bone stock?

jimwilsonmasonry 11-14-2009 08:35 PM

id say anywhere from 140 to 170 rwhp

c00nhunterjoe 11-14-2009 09:45 PM

auto's are typicly around 150-160 and tq is 350ish at the wheels. 97's are rated 225/475 flywheel

I thought they were rated 215/425?

GNRL LEE 11-15-2009 01:08 AM

1995 psd were 215hp, 96-97 were 225hp

DZL JIM 11-15-2009 07:33 AM

Those ratings on the vc are at the motor.

On the dyno they are around 170 hp at the rear wheels. At least at our dyno here.

Only the 97's with the Cali motors with split-shot injectors were 225/475

All the 94.5-97's without the split-shots were 215hp

c00nhunterjoe 11-15-2009 08:57 AM

i assure you my 97 is not a cali truck and it is 225

c00nhunterjoe 11-15-2009 09:06 AM

my sticker is black, and says 225 hp, i dont have the pulse moderator on the fuel pump, and i have aa coded injectors...lol

Hmm, why are they rated higher than? What makes them different than the '95?

jimwilsonmasonry 11-15-2009 07:34 PM

they end up bein the same when they have a good custom tune on them

Good to know. What's the hotpedal mod you have listed?

JethroF250 11-15-2009 10:13 PM

the 95 hpop and oil system for the injectors was totally different and i believe had a drain back valve while anything late 95 and newer didnt. but i had my rig on the dyno. with just a superchip and the mods in my sig i laid down 200rwhp and 430lb-ft of torque

strokin'_tatsch 11-15-2009 10:32 PM

my guess on a stock truck it would dyno around 160-170 like everyone else has said. i would trust Jim on the 170hp number. he has a wealth of knowledge about these things. a lot more than i have. haha

with an edge evo, 10k mod, FPR shim, intake, and exhaust my truck was 204hp and 442 lb ft.

Falcon, the hot pedal is when you take the tab for the IVS on the throttle pedal and bend it back til it clicks off AS SOON as you look at it wrong, then you gotta clock the TPS a little bit, but i can't remember how far. this gives better throttle response.. a lot better. i just bend the tabs back on the IVS and that gives a pretty good throttle response difference.

tj had a easier way than moving the tps he said just replace the bolt with a smaller 6mm bolt
