Are you working on the gasser in your sig or a PSD?

It's the one in the sig, gasser...

They should, but with that truck being only OBD-I, it might not.

What's the problem?

The truck is pinging like crazy, I've changed fuel filter, pcv, cleaned the MAF & throttle body, air filter, & plugs. Checked all the coils for voltage and they all read the same. If I change the gas to super it won't ping. Pinging happens at 2000-2500 rpms mostly on inclines at highway speeds (40-70 mph). I know that the winter blend fuel is out but this has been happening for over 6 months and I've been trying to track it down. I'm thinking of changing the DPFE & EGR but I really don't want to throw parts at it. I thought one of these sensors controlled timing and maybe off?

Try running Marvel Mystery Oil in a tank of fuel... I just put some in my tank and I can tell a difference.

I've tried injection cleaners and seafoam but not "mystery oil"...

Try it... it clearly states that it is for both the engine oil and fuel systems.

What does Mystery Oil do that fuel system cleaners won't do?

I was informed that it would lubricate the internals... here is the official product description:

Added to Engine Oil

It's good that you figured out that high-octane makes it go away, so there's definitely an octane/compression/timing issue.

What bothers me whenever someone brings up pinging on the V10's is that it has a knock sensor.

If the knock sensor logic isn't pulling the timing, that either means the knock sensor itself is bad, or the PCM input is bad.

If it were me, having an SCT X3 or other datalogging device, I'd check if the knock sensor is doing it's job first.

My autoscanner doesn't have the data logging option, I was thinking of taking it to the dealer and have them scan it. Good idea/bad idea? What info will they even give me in terms of the datalog? I think it will run about $100 for 1 hrs tech time, just guessing though. Someone mentioned the knock sensor before and it is difficult to get to under the intake manifold so I can't pull it to test.

But you can unplug the knock sensor and see if the problem changes or not, right? Worth a shot and free...

good point, I'll see if I can get to the wiring to disconnect & test. KOEO V should be 0.5 so if I can get to the wiring hopefully I can check it.
