Number questions
First, thanks in advance to numberdummy.
Second, here is the VIN/Warranty plate info. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=205908&.jpg f10hnbk2793 WB 133 Color YM TYPE/GVW F107 Body BR4 Trans G AXLE 15 J DSO 24 I think I have a 2100 carb (2 Barrel Motorcraft) https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=205909&.jpg https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=205907&.jpg |
I was looking to rebuild the carb there seem to be two different 2150 kits one up to 1978 the other for 1978 and up. Of course I have a 1978 so either could work. How do I tell which to use?

Sounds like a good question for fmc400, he seems to be the carb wizard.

Could you post the carb ID tag? It's illegible in these pics.

I'll try to get the numbers off the tag better. Just enough rust in the right place.

From the plate
D7 TEAK A 8A 24 |
BK2793 = 1978
Results for VIN#: F10HNBK2793 Model Year: 78 Series: F100 - 4x2 Pickup Engine: 8 Cyl, 351ci (5.8L) 2bbl Assembly Plant: Norfolk Transmission: The only information provided is Automatic. My guess is C6 Rear Axle: 3.25 3750lb Ford |
The carburetor looks like a 2150; all you need to do is bring those tag numbers to the parts store and have them cross reference the kit you need directly. The kits are literally listed in the book using the numbers you provided. I highly recommend kits from Napa and not the "one size fits all" variety from Advance, etc.

Sand gold metallic and white.
Its all white now and not a very good paint job, but underneath it looks green metallic. |
