Performance mods worth getting?
I'm planning on buying a Edelbrock cat-back exhaust kit, a K&N fuel injection performance kit, and trying to find a computer tuner (Does anyone know where I can find one.) But I'm doing this to my 1995 F-150 Eddie Bauer (302). Plus I heard the Torq rating for Eddie Bauers w/ 302's is 412 Ft. Lb. of Torq. Is that true?
Thanks in advance JP. |
Your on the right track, imagine your engine is an air pump. The more air you can get in and out, the more power you can make. Eventually, you will get to the point of needing more fuel too, so as you move more air be prepared to add more fuel. Don't get discouraged, because you will be boosting the effeciency of the motor, so you mileage will not change much.
Superchips might have a tuner for you, but Sniper has a tuner that will cover your application. You have a EEC-IV computer, sence your truck isn't OBD2 your tuner options are a little limited. Check out Sniper, I am tickled pink with my special forces software. |
But I'm still wondering if it's true that my truck cranks out 412 Ft. Lb. Torq. Ok I'll look into the Sniper Tuner.
Thanks in advance JP |
I don't think so. Only the 302 crate motors are approaching that mark, so unless the motor was swapped, stock should be closer 350-375 ft-lbs.

Well thats still a good chunk of tourqe. But they said at the page for eddie bauer trucks (1995) that it was cranking out 412, but I don't care as long as there is more tourqe than horsepower.
Thanks for the info. |
You're thinking of the 7.3L diesel, as they were rated for 210HP and 425ft-lbs of torque.
The 1995 302ci is rated for 185HP and 270-275ft-lbs of torque |
umm no you and i wish. your making about 280-310 ftlbs of torque.!
