Heater Hose Hook Up

Hey Guys-
I just installed a rebuilt 390 in my 1969 F-250. I cant remember which hose goes where though. On the fire wall, if you're standing infront on the truck looking at it, there are two pipes sticking out- same length. Which side gets the hose with the heater control on it? Which hose connects to the water pump? My intake manifold has a "T" coming out of it, so where do those two hoses go? I appreciate the help- I want to hear this bad boy start up!

th hose with the control goes to the pump the other one goes to the intake. or at least that is how mine is routed the t on the intake the other hose should have run to a plate under the carb. if you removed that plate change the t fitting out for a 90.

Tristin, I don't believe there is any directional requirements for the core, so basically it will work either way. I recommend flushing the core with a garden hose in both directions before hooking it back up.

The water pump heater hose nipple sucks in, engine is turing clockwise. And the hose nipple T or Y what ever you want to call it.. pushes the flow out and through carb base plate heating it. and then too a T in the heater hose returning to the water pump. 8D my 2cents

Are you sure about that??

Why would a pump be sucking from the heater core line?

the pressure line comes from just behind the thermostat housing so the water pump has to be sucking from the heater core. just my two cents

as long as your 68 is a chevy, by all means install it. If it is not, you are on the wrong site for chevy questions. :)

Fresh air heater: The inline heater water valve (C3UZ-18495-A) is spliced into the input heater hose, not the return line.

Ppl install the water valve in error into the return line and then wonder why the heater doesn't get hot enough.

Is the water valve missing or rusted out?

It's still available from Ford, and autoparts stores (Motorcraft YG-133).
