Adding aux.trans - where do I find driveline parts?

I got a good deal on a Spicer 5831 (3-speed) auxiliary under/over transmission and am planning to put it between my 360/NP435 and Dana 70.

In general what is the availability of parts like U-joint knuckles, shifting cables, mounting brackets, and so on? Should I start looking under medium and heavy trucks in scrapyards, or can any parts be bought new from Dana? or NAPA?

Would a driveshaft shop be the first place to look for new U-joints and flanges? I'll need at least one shaft shortened anyway. Anyone who's done a project like this, please let me know... thanks.
