Instrument panel lights fuse blowing
I have an '87 Bronco2 4wd 2.9L 5 spd tranny. It has something that immediately blows the instrument panel lights fuse Are there any suggestions?
|
Are you talking about fuse 4 or 17?
|
It says it's the "5A INST PNL LMPS" located on the bottom in between WARN LPS and TURN SIG FLASHER
|
Thats fuse 17 & it splices to ashtray bulb/rear window defrost control bulb/heat & AC control bulb/instrument illumination/radio illumination.
You said in your other post that the PO botched the job of installing a radio, so that might be where the problem is. The connector for the radio illumination is near the ignition switch. open that connector & see if a new fuse blows. Light blue wire with red stripe. |
That might be part of your battery drain problem, too.
|
I installed a new light switch the same day I put in a used turn signal and multi-switch. The fuse hasn't blown since..
Thanks Everyone!! |
Good deal, glad to hear it's fixed

Sweet. Glad to hear you got a couple of the issues fixed. NOW... is the battery still draining on you, or did these other repairs fix that as well?? :)
