Weird E-brake

A couple days ago, I put my 92 F150 in park and applied the e-brake. When I did, the e-brake pedal went all the way to the floor. My first thought was that the cable snapped but when I got under the truck to check, everything seemed fine. I pulled the brake release button and tried it again. Everything seemes to be all right. Is this normal? My truck only has 45,000 miles on it, and I live in Indiana so I don't use it much. It still keeps the the truck from moving when I put the truck in drive and let off the brake. Is something broken or is this just something that happends?
Thanks for your help guys

Check the adjustment on your rear brakes...

Climb under the rear of the truck between the rear tires. Look at the back of the brake drums and you'll see a small rubber plug about 1 inch long. Pull it out and it'll reveal a small gear. Use a flat head screwdriver to turn this gear to tighten the brakes. Pop the rubber plug back in and your ready to go.

Another way to tighten the rear brakes up would be to do a couple of hard stops in reverse. They're self adjusting brakes, and if you don't use them in reverse too often, they'll loosen up.
